Fans watching One Punch Man Season 3, Episode 1 might feel the story is missing something, as several dramatic and important scenes from the manga were deliberately left out. Some characters who should have appeared in this episode didn’t get the chance to show up.
These cuts significantly toned down the atmosphere and intensity of the Monster Association Arc in the anime. Here’s a list of the key manga scenes that were removed from One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 1!
1. Monsters eager to finish off Narinki’s private squad
As we know, Narinki’s mercenaries were sent to rescue Waganma but unfortunately were intercepted by G5, the group assigned to assist the monsters in capturing them.
The tension during Gyoro Gyoro’s trial should have been much higher in the anime. Many monsters not only shouted and laughed but also cursed and threatened. Some were so hungry they wanted to devour humans alive. Several monsters couldn’t hold back their bloodlust and immediately began hunting the soldiers.
2. Royal Ripper brutally massacres his own kind
All attempts by monsters to attack Narinki’s private squad failed. The one who stopped the monsters from devouring the group was Royal Ripper, a humanoid monster with swords attached to his arms.
Without hesitation, he slaughtered the lower-ranked monsters he saw as trying to steal his share. This brutal act highlighted the internal chaos within the Monster Association.
3. G5 and Do-S stop Royal Ripper from killing Narinki’s squad
Royal Ripper then wanted to devour Narinki’s entire squad and drew his swords. However, G5 and Do-S temporarily stopped him. According to the samurai robot, they needed to consider how to profit more from these unfortunate humans.
Royal Ripper himself couldn’t hold back and was ready to slaughter all the soldiers immediately. Just as he was about to strike, his sword was suddenly blocked by Do-S’s thorny whip. The monster asked if she could turn the humans into her slaves. With a single move, all the soldiers were hypnotized and enslaved for her use.
Following Do-S’s suggestion, Gyoro Gyoro agreed and ordered Royal Ripper to stop and let the monster take care of them.
4. Bug God joins the conversation as Garou receives a mission from Orochi
After dealing with the intruders, Gyoro Gyoro turned to Garou. The young man was immediately given a mission by Orochi to bring back the head of a hero. Success would earn Garou recognition as a commander working directly under Gyoro Gyoro.
However, an important scene was cut where Bug God comments on this mission. In the manga, he says the task should be easy until Garou reveals he has killed Bang and other heroes. Phoenix Man immediately denies this.
In the anime, Bug God’s commentary was removed, and he only appears alongside Royal Ripper when receiving the order to hunt Garou.
5. Dialogue between Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame
Alongside Bug God and Royal Ripper, Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame were also supposed to appear earlier. In the manga, they show up after handing over monster cells to Sonic.
They discuss the elite position Garou has taken after Gouketsu and Elder Centipede left. They can’t believe Garou is strong enough for Gyoro Gyoro to recruit a half-monster like him. They even boast that they are still stronger than Garou. Unfortunately, this dialogue was cut from the anime’s first episode.
