The arrival of Jura in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has introduced the strongest villain the series has ever seen, sparking bold speculation among fans: could Uzumaki Naruto become the next Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails?
If this happens, it would mark the first time in over a decade since the Fourth Great Ninja War that the title of Ten-Tails Jinchuriki has returned to the Naruto universe.
The Ten-Tails remains the greatest threat
In the original Naruto series, the Ten-Tails is regarded as the most powerful Tailed Beast ever to exist. Uchiha Obito was the first to become the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki during the Ninja War, followed by Uchiha Madara, who reached near-unstoppable power. Going further back, Sage of Six Paths Otsutsuki Hagoromo once sealed the Ten-Tails within himself to save the world.
Moving into Boruto, a new Ten-Tails creature nurtured by the Otsutsuki clan has appeared. Initially, this being was imprisoned by Isshiki in a separate dimension, but later Code exploited its power to create Jura, the leader of the Shinju.
What makes Jura unique is that he does not simply control the Ten-Tails, he is confirmed to be the Ten-Tails incarnate in human form.
Jura’s power is nearly unbeatable
Recent developments show that Jura’s strength far surpasses most characters in the story. Even Boruto, Kawaki, Sarada, and the top ninja currently active have yet to show any sign they could defeat him in a direct confrontation.
Several characters acknowledge that provoking Jura means stepping into a battle with no chance of victory. This has led many readers to believe the final fight won’t end simply by killing him.
Why sealing might be the key
In the Naruto world, Tailed Beasts cannot be completely destroyed. Even if their bodies or chakra are wiped out, they can eventually be reborn.
Kurama is the clearest example. After sacrificing itself through Baryon Mode, the Nine-Tails seemed gone forever but ultimately was reborn inside Uzumaki Himawari.
Because Jura shares the nature of a Tailed Beast, defeating him might not fully eliminate the threat. A safer solution could be sealing the Ten-Tails into a suitable vessel, just as Hagoromo did in the past.
Is Naruto the most likely candidate?
Naruto remains sealed within the Daikokuten dimension since his battle with Kawaki and has had almost no chance to return to the battlefield.
However, many fans believe that once the current arc concludes, both Sasuke and Naruto will make their comebacks. If that happens, the Seventh Hokage could become the central figure in the fight against Jura.
Another reason this theory gains traction is that Naruto has lost Kurama. Without the Nine-Tails, his power has significantly declined compared to his peak. Facing increasingly powerful Otsutsuki, Naruto will almost certainly need a new source of strength.
The strange connection between Naruto and Jura
Unlike many villains before him, Jura shows a special interest in Naruto. Initially, he sought Naruto because he believed the Nine-Tails still resided within the Seventh Hokage. After learning Kurama was reborn in Himawari, Jura’s focus seemed to shift.
Recent chapters reveal that Jura sees Naruto as the person who best embodies the concept of “love.” This is why he wants to understand Naruto instead of simply destroying him. This detail has led many to believe their relationship could evolve in unexpected ways, rather than ending in a deadly battle.
If Jura ultimately agrees to be sealed instead of being completely destroyed, Naruto could very well become the new Ten-Tails Jinchuriki, much like Hagoromo did in the past.
