After Buddha switched sides, the universe of Record of Ragnarok welcomed a new god into the tournament: Hades, the Lord of the Underworld. This powerful Greek god was chosen to face Qin Shi Huang in the seventh round. Behind his majestic appearance lies a series of intriguing mysteries, from being the eldest of the Greek gods to his silent sacrifices protecting his younger brothers.
1. Respected Eldest of the Greek God Quartet

In Record of Ragnarok’s Greek mythology, Hades is one of the key gods. He is the eldest among four brothers: Hades, Zeus, Poseidon, and Adamas. Although Zeus, Poseidon, and Adamas often clash, all three hold deep respect for Hades. His presence always brings calm and order to the younger gods.
2. One of the Few Gods Allowed to Pass Through Bifrost

Bifrost is the gateway connecting Valhalla and Helheim (the Underworld). Only high-ranking gods are permitted to cross it. Greece has two gods on this list: Zeus as the council leader, and Hades as the ruler of Helheim.
3. The One Who Stopped the Titan Invasion

This event happened right after Zeus defeated Kronos and claimed the throne. The ancient goddess Gaia refused to accept this and rallied her giant army to attack. Meanwhile, the Titans imprisoned in Tartarus escaped and planned to assault Zeus. Seeing this threat, Hades quickly returned to Helheim and slaughtered all the Titans, successfully stopping the Tartarus prisoners’ invasion and protecting his brothers.
4. The Only One Respected by Poseidon

Fans know Poseidon as the coldest and most ruthless god, even toward his own brothers. However, beneath that cold exterior, Poseidon holds absolute respect for Hades, his elder brother. This is clearly shown when, after the massacre in Helheim, Poseidon calls him “Aniki” (big brother) for the first time.
5. Complex Relationship with Demon King Beelzebub

Beyond the Greek gods, Hades also earns respect from other pantheons, especially Beelzebub, the Demon King who once fought Tesla. Their relationship began with a battle: Beelzebub sought Hades hoping to die, as the Lilith tattoo prevented his suicide.
After defeating Beelzebub, Hades said the Lilith mark was a sign of hope for him to keep living and even gifted him the Staff of Apomyius. This bond explains why Adamas survived after being seriously wounded by Poseidon: Beelzebub performed surgery on Adamas at Hades’ request.
6. Volunteered to Replace Buddha for Revenge

Hades was not originally listed among the 13 gods fighting for the gods’ side. But after Buddha switched sides and became an opponent of Zerofuku/Hajun, Hades immediately volunteered to take his place. His main reason was not just to fill the spot but to avenge the death of his brother Poseidon.
7. Mastery of Spear Combat

Like Poseidon, Hades is a master of spear and trident weapons. However, while Poseidon favors the trident and prioritizes speed, Hades wields dual spears. His skills are terrifying enough to single-handedly slaughter all the Titans. Hades’ fighting style emphasizes raw physical power and destructive ability, contrasting with Poseidon’s speed and intensity.
8. Trump Card Ichor: Desmos, Power Through Blood

Ichor: Desmos is Hades’ trump card, used only when he is backed into a corner. By infusing his own blood into his weapons, Hades creates an extremely powerful and destructive form. However, this mode has two critical weaknesses. First, prolonged use drains Hades’ life force. Second, it becomes a double-edged sword if the opponent can sense Qi, since Ichor: Desmos is powered by Hades’ own life energy.
9. Defeat Against Qin Shi Huang

Using Ichor: Desmos turned out to be a mistake against Qin Shi Huang. Because this weapon emits its own Qi, Qin Shi Huang used his technique to bend Hades’ attack, destroying Ichor: Desmos. He then delivered the final blow that ended Hades.
Notably, just before Hades vanished, Qin Shi Huang called him “a friend.”
10. Voiced by Ryōtarō Okiayu

Hades is voiced by Ryōtarō Okiayu, a veteran seiyuu known for roles like Byakuya Kuchiki (Bleach), Kokushibo (Demon Slayer), and Kaku/Kizaru (One Piece).
