After a series of shocking events in the Elbaf arc, One Piece has officially ranked the most powerful Devil Fruits ever seen in the series. Notably, Imu’s ability is considered stronger than Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, while Blackbeard’s Yami Yami no Mi remains a unique threat to all Devil Fruit users.
Imu Wields the Strongest Devil Fruit in the One Piece World

Since his official appearance at Elbaf in chapter 1179, Imu has continuously surprised readers by gradually revealing his true power. Subsequent chapters reveal that the ruler of the World Government possesses an Akuma no Mi known as the “God of Rule” Devil Fruit.
When activated, Imu transforms into a nearly “Demon God” form, featuring dark skin, massive horns, black wings, and an array of terrifying ancient weapons. Additionally, he can wield ominous black flames called Omen and several other mysterious abilities yet to be fully explored.
This power was quickly demonstrated on the Elbaf battlefield as Imu overwhelmed Zoro, Hajrudin, Sanji, Loki, and ultimately defeated Luffy in chapter 1188.
Remarkably, after defeating the Straw Hat captain, Imu claimed that Joy Boy is far stronger than Luffy, suggesting the protagonist has yet to unlock his full potential.
Luffy’s Nika Fruit Still Holds Untapped Potential

Ranking second is the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. After awakening, this Devil Fruit allows Luffy to enter Gear 5, enabling him to fight with complete freedom, bend the laws of physics, and bring imagination to life.
This ability helped Luffy defeat Kaido, overpower Admiral Kizaru, and create many iconic moments in the series’ final stages.
However, recent events at Elbaf show that Luffy has not yet fully tapped into Nika’s potential. His relatively easy defeat by Imu is clear proof. If Joy Boy once made Imu cautious, it’s likely that Nika’s true power still has a higher awakening or form that Luffy has yet to reach.
This opens the possibility that the main character will continue to grow stronger in One Piece’s final battles.
Blackbeard’s Yami Yami no Mi Remains the Ultimate Devil Fruit Counter

The final piece of the top three strongest Devil Fruits belongs to Marshall D. Teach’s Yami Yami no Mi.
From early on, Blackbeard established this as the most dangerous Devil Fruit power. His ability to control darkness creates immense gravitational force, swallowing everything with a Black Hole technique.
Yet the most terrifying aspect of the Yami Yami no Mi is not its destructive power but its ability to nullify other Devil Fruit powers through direct contact. This gives Blackbeard a huge advantage against opponents who rely entirely on their Devil Fruit abilities, including Luffy and even Imu.
Despite its weaknesses, especially the user taking more damage than usual, the Yami Yami no Mi remains one of the most dangerous abilities ever introduced.
