Twenty years after the original Dragon Ball manga ended, Akira Toriyama returned with Dragon Ball Super (DBS). The story takes place after the Buu Saga, where Goku and Vegeta continue to train and grow stronger. Everything changes when Beerus, the God of Destruction and the universe’s most powerful deity, awakens and begins his quest to find a Super Saiyan God.
This first arc was adapted from the 2013 film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. Beerus easily overwhelms Goku and the other heroes but eventually joins their side. Despite being a legendary god, one of his past actions creates a major plot hole, though the scene remains very funny.

After awakening, Beerus begins searching for the Super Saiyan God he saw in a prophetic dream. When Whis reveals that the surviving Saiyans have been relocated to Earth, Beerus suddenly recalls a notable memory.
Beerus remembers the time he destroyed all the dinosaurs after they treated him rudely. Fortunately, he spared the planet itself, allowing life to continue evolving and eventually creating the world we know today.
This statement is a humorous plot hole because dinosaurs have always been part of Earth’s history in the Dragon Ball universe. They appear throughout the original Dragon Ball and even in later scenes, though less frequently. Beerus’s claim that he wiped out all dinosaurs directly contradicts what fans have seen in the series.
Still, Beerus’s declaration remains an unexplained plot inconsistency. The scene’s purpose is mainly comedic, blending the story with some prehistoric elements from the real world. It highlights the absurdity and absolute power of Beerus, a god who can do anything, even contradict the established storyline.
