Few know that beneath his proud exterior and extraordinary strength, Qin Shi Huang has a tragic past and unique abilities that make him one of humanity’s greatest fighters.
1. Rejected and Raised Amid Tragedy
Qin Shi Huang’s birth name was Ying Zheng. He was the product of a forbidden love between Zichu, a member of the Qin dynasty, and a dancer from the Zhao kingdom. Because of this background, he was abandoned by his biological parents as a child.
2. Suffers from Mirror Empathy Syndrome
From a young age, Qin Shi Huang suffered from a rare disorder called Mirror Empathy Syndrome. This condition made him physically feel the pain and injuries of others when witnessing abuse. Even worse, he could be hurt instantly by negative emotions directed at him.
Despite this, Qin Shi Huang was grateful for the condition because it helped him become a compassionate ruler who understood his people’s suffering.
3. Caring Foster Mother: Chun Yan
Qin Shi Huang’s painful childhood changed when he met Chun Yan, his protector and foster mother. At first, she was reluctant to care for Ying Zheng because he always smiled despite hardships.
Still, Chun Yan raised him lovingly as her own son. She was the one who gave him the eyepatch to shield him from the pain caused by his Mirror Empathy Syndrome.
4. Defeated the God Iblis Chiyou to Unite China
After ascending the throne, Qin Shi Huang was not content to stop there. To become the true emperor of China and end the tradition of royal sacrifices, he single-handedly challenged the god Iblis Chiyou. The battle lasted six days and nights, ending with Qin Shi Huang’s victory. This feat made him the first emperor to unify all of China.
5. Mastered the “Chiyou” Combat Technique
Beyond the fighting skills taught by Chun Yan, Qin Shi Huang also mastered a combat style called Chiyou, named after the god he defeated. This martial art combines various techniques based on weapons said to be created by that god, including bows, swords, maces, spears, and armor. This was Qin Shi Huang’s strategic weapon when facing Hades.

Qin Shi Huang also has a special ability called Qi Eyes. As the name suggests, he can see the Qi points in his opponent’s body and strike precisely to weaken them. He awakened this power after enduring extreme pain from his Mirror Empathy Syndrome during his conquests.
7. Partnered with Valkyrie Alvitr
Qin Shi Huang’s chosen Volundr (Divine Weapon) partner is Alvitr, the tenth of thirteen Valkyrie sisters. Alvitr has a fierce look and personality similar to Hlökk, Jack The Ripper’s companion. However, she quickly fell for the emperor’s charm and showed deep care for him throughout their battle. Alvitr’s Volundr has two modes: shoulder armor and arm armor.
8. Triumphant Victory Over Hades
Brunhilde chose Qin Shi Huang to face Hades, the ruler of the underworld. Initially, Qin Shi Huang had the upper hand, but things worsened when he removed his eyepatch and suffered from Mirror Empathy Syndrome, even losing an arm. However, Hades made a fatal mistake by using Ichor: Desmos, which gave life to his weapon. Qin Shi Huang used his Qi Eyes to find Hades’ weakness, delivering the final blow and winning the fight.
9. One of the Few Humans Who Can Injure Gods Without Volundr
Normally, humans need Volundr (Divine Weapons) to harm gods. But Qin Shi Huang is one of the rare few who can do it barehanded. He killed the god Iblis Chiyou using only martial arts and is also known for easily overpowering the god of war, Ares.
