One Piece chapter 1156 is titled “Idol.” It opens with a striking color page showing Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Nami in the foreground, with the legendary trio Roger, Rayleigh, and Gaban behind them. Other Straw Hat members appear as tiny figures sitting on Luffy’s shoulders and inside his shirt pocket, creating a fascinating connection between two generations of pirates.

An Unexpected Bond Between Roger and the Kuja Queen
The narrator explains that 44 years ago, the Kuja Pirates were so famous they couldn’t be ignored. The Kuja crew was seen as an “idol group” of fierce women with sky-high bounties, constantly followed and photographed. Among them, Shakuyaku, who would later become the “Kuja Queen,” rose to a level of fame far beyond the rest.

The Kuja Pirates clashed with Roger’s crew because Roger wanted Shakuyaku to join him. She refused, striking Roger on the head and declaring, “I belong to no one.” Shakuyaku winked at Rayleigh, making him blush for the first time. Interestingly, Rayleigh was the only one in Roger’s crew not captivated by Shakuyaku’s beauty, which led her to say they could take all her treasure.
The Legendary Showdown
In this chapter, Garp suddenly appears and uses his “Meteor Fist” to strike Roger’s ship, while Roger counters with a new move called “Wild Soul.”
As Roger and Garp battle across a dramatic double-page spread, the narrator reveals this era marks the first intense clashes between young, passionate legends like Roger, Garp, and Rocks.
Rocks Pirates’ Mad Plan and the Arrival of “Silver Axe”
At Elbaph, Ida invites Loki to live with her and Hajrudin, but Loki refuses, wanting only to sail with Rocks. At Hachinosu, a mysterious man attacks several pirates. This is “Kyou Yakuza,” later known as “Silver Axe,” Shiki’s rival. Kyou is a large man with a massive chest tattoo, wearing a kimono patterned with axes, sunglasses, and wielding a giant axe. His design resembles Zephyr from One Piece Film Z.
The chapter ends with the entire Rocks crew gathered inside the “skull” of Hachinosu. Rocks notices two eye sockets on it and decides to make holes there. New members of the Rocks crew are introduced: Charlotte Linlin, Streusen, Kaido, John, and Barbel, a catfish fish-man.
Rocks explains his wild plan to his crew: first, to find two Devil Fruits, one of which is at Elbaph. Rocks wants Harald to eat it to unlock his true potential. Second, to find the giant “Galleyla” people.
Rocks’s final words are full of ambition and power: “Listen up, Elbaph is the key to conquering the Holy Land! Don’t believe me? Then get lost! Whether you follow me on this fateful day is up to you! But if you’re determined, then let’s go… I’ll show you the pinnacle of this world!”
There will be no new chapter next week due to Weekly Shonen Jump’s summer break in Japan. Fans are speculating whether Oda will take us to God Valley in chapter 1157. As past and present continue to unfold, the stage is set for some of the most anticipated revelations in One Piece history.
