At the recent Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event, a wave of exciting Dragon Ball anime and game announcements promised a thrilling year ahead with Goku and friends.
Beyond just remaking the Battle of Gods arc, the new anime project will completely overhaul the Frieza saga, alongside the launch of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 featuring original designs by Akira Toriyama.
1. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, More Than a Simple Remake
Earlier this year, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus stirred excitement as a special remake of the Battle of Gods arc. The latest trailer released at Battle Hour 2026 has fans buzzing even more by confirming Frieza’s appearance.

This means the remake will cover not only the battle with the God of Destruction but also events from the Resurrection F arc where Frieza returns. According to the producers, this enhanced version will include new scenes and a deeply revised script. The visuals have been completely revamped with sharper, modern animation. Voice acting, soundtrack, and sound effects have all been redone from scratch.
Legendary voice actress Masako Nozawa, who voices Goku, shared her excitement: “The fight between Goku and Beerus is thrilling! And then… Frieza appears at the end of the trailer! I hope everyone will be as excited as I am for this upgraded showdown between Goku and Frieza!” The film is scheduled to premiere in Japan this fall.
2. The Future of the Anime: Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc Coming Soon

Alongside the remake, another major announcement is Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime adaptation. This series will bring the highly successful Galactic Patrol Prisoner (Moro) arc from the manga to the screen. Although no release date has been set, the Beerus and Frieza remake is seen as the perfect stepping stone to usher the franchise into the new Moro and Granolah era.
3. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Revealed with Designs by Akira Toriyama
After much speculation about the “Age 1000” project, producers confirmed it is the highly anticipated sequel, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.
The standout feature of this game is its setting in the distant future of the Dragon Ball universe. Producer Akio Iyoku revealed that the late Akira Toriyama himself laid the foundation for Xenoverse 3’s world and story. Toriyama was deeply involved in crafting the setting, plot, and especially the new character designs.

Among the new designs, Future Bulma has sparked a huge reaction on social media as soon as she appeared. This proves that although Toriyama has passed, his influence and legacy continue to shape the future of the Dragon Ball franchise.
