The animation quality of One-Punch Man season 3 has reached an alarming low, and the situation keeps getting worse. The newly released episode 6, titled Motley Heroes, scored a dismal 2.6/10 on IMDb, making it one of the lowest-rated anime episodes ever.
Fans of One-Punch Man, who have waited years since season 2 ended in 2019, are deeply disappointed by the lack of care and effort in producing season 3. Some are demanding an official apology to creator ONE and artist Yusuke Murata, while others hope a reputable studio will take over and deliver the animation quality the series deserves.

Season 3 began airing in October 2025 and has released six episodes so far. Fans’ concerns about Shinpei Nagai, a director with limited experience in action anime, have proven true. The director failed to deliver on promises of high-quality CGI in any episode.
In nearly two months of airing, not a single episode of One-Punch Man season 3 has scored above 5.3/10. Calling it a disappointment feels like an understatement. It seems the animators at J.C. Staff have given up on the story and put little effort into adapting the grand vision of ONE and Yusuke Murata.
The poor ratings are not even the worst part. According to the account @NicholasLightTV on X, episode 6 ranks as the 19th lowest-rated anime episode in history. Some fans even say that rating is still too generous given J.C. Staff’s work.
Fans Demand Apology Over One-Punch Man Season 3 Failure
The first season of One-Punch Man, produced by Madhouse, stayed true to the original: smooth animation, well-choreographed fight scenes, and truly elevated the vision of ONE and Murata. When J.C. Staff took over for season 2, problems began, and season 3 has become an unprecedented disaster.
From Garou’s sliding scenes to repeated inconsistencies, nothing can save this season. It’s hard not to notice the glaring mistakes that hit viewers right in the face.
Many fans are urging Bandai Namco to apologize to ONE and Murata or hand the anime over to another studio like Madhouse, MAPPA, or Bones. Hardcore fans believe the company ruined One-Punch Man by putting misplaced trust in J.C. Staff, and this failure is the clearest proof.
At this point, the only way to save One-Punch Man season 3 is through a remake. However, that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon, at least not within the next decade.
