Since his unofficial debut in the Dragon Ball Z series, Legendary Super Saiyan Broly has stood as a symbol of raw muscle power and an overwhelming terror to all opponents. Regardless of the storyline or timeline, this Saiyan enjoys a unique “cheat code” from the creator: the longer he fights, the stronger he becomes, with no limits.
Let’s take a look at and analyze the 7 Broly versions from weakest to strongest in Dragon Ball history!
7. Bio-Broly (Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly)

At the bottom of the list is Bio-Broly, the main villain in the controversial Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly movie. This is not the real Broly warrior but a flawed clone created from leftover cells of the original Broly.
Instead of a powerful, muscular figure, Bio-Broly is a mindless monster covered in a toxic chemical slime, resembling a moving pile of sludge.
His main opponents are the kids Goten and Trunks, along with Android 18 and Krillin. He is ultimately defeated by seawater and basic attacks.
6. Toei Broly (Dragon Ball Z)

This is the original Broly from the 90s, the iconic terror of the 80s-90s generation, appearing in the two famous movies The Legendary Super Saiyan and The Second Coming, produced by Toei. In this timeline, the Z fighters face him during a brief period of peace just before the Cell Games.
His power as the Legendary Super Saiyan is so immense that it takes the combined effort of the five strongest Z fighters to suppress him. The only limitation is that his strength is capped by the power scale of the Cell Games era, roughly equal to Fat Buu.
5. Victory Mission Broly (Dragon Ball Heroes)

Before officially working on the Dragon Ball Super manga, artist Toyotarou drew a side story called Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission.
Broly in Victory Mission is an upgraded version powered by the insane strength scale of the GT universe. Beyond the usual Super Saiyan transformations, this Broly breaks limits to reach Super Saiyan 3 and then Super Saiyan 4.
He can even transform into a Legendary Great Ape with blazing golden fur. This version’s muscle power is so terrifying that he can single-handedly slaughter nearly all the evil Black Dragons with ease.
4. God Broly (Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D)

God Broly is a mysterious variant with Broly Z’s signature long green hair, placed into an alternate Dragon Ball Super timeline. He is the main villain of the exclusive 4D effects movie Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D at Super Tenkaichi Budokai, a virtual reality experience at Universal Studios Japan.
Somehow, this madman awakens and absorbs God Ki, debuting the ultimate Legendary God form. This is the only Broly version in the entire franchise to possess divine energy so far. God Broly’s power is overwhelming, easily crushing the Super Saiyan Blue forms of both Goku and Vegeta.
3. Canon Broly (Dragon Ball Super)

This is the official Broly from the original storyline, redesigned by creator Akira Toriyama in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and currently an important character in the manga.
Unlike the crazed Toei version, Canon Broly is gentle but has a mutant physique. When enraged, his raw power grows at a terrifying rate. Even Goku admitted that Broly’s strength at that moment might have surpassed God of Destruction Beerus.
Recently, in chapter 103 of the Dragon Ball Super manga, Canon Broly officially learned to activate the true Legendary Super Saiyan form without losing his mind.
2. Xeno Broly (Super Dragon Ball Heroes)
Xeno Broly comes from a parallel universe where the Z fighters have experienced all events from Dragon Ball GT and the old Toei movies.
In the promotional anime Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Xeno Broly is a true monster, reaching full-power Super Saiyan 4. He can fight toe-to-toe with Xeno Gogeta. Without needing God Ki, his power level completely outclasses the canon version from the original storyline. Hardcore fans agree that Xeno Broly defines the muscle god.
1. Dark Broly (Super Dragon Ball Heroes)

The undisputed champion and strongest Broly version ever is Dark Broly. This is Xeno Broly after being captured by villains from the timeline. He is forced to wear an evil collar and merges directly with the 7-Star Black Dragon.
In the Dark King Mechikabura arc, Dark Broly ruthlessly kills Xeno King Vegeta, one of the strongest Saiyans in the Xeno timeline, in an instant and nearly takes down Xeno Bardock as well.
He only loses when the Z fighters use the Key Sword, an ancient divine relic, to seal him away.
