The character design updates in the early chapters of Two Blue Vortex didn’t sit well with many Boruto fans. In response, Reddit users came up with their own creative redesigns, swapping the characters’ hair colors to offer a fresh perspective. These designs are not only fun but also show how even small changes can completely shift how we perceive these characters.

In these fan designs, hair colors are swapped among the characters. Sarada looks adorable with wavy pink hair, while Boruto stands out with purple hair and clove-colored eyes, highlighting his Hyuga heritage. This version of Boruto feels much fresher compared to his usual blond look.

However, not every character suits the new colors. Sakura looks great with both blond and black hair, but Sasuke doesn’t quite work with pink hair. The soft pink clashes with his sharp features. While red hair gives Naruto a fresh look, his original blond hair better reflects his passionate and lively personality.

Mikio Ikemoto’s Boruto characters have a sharper look, with streetwear-inspired outfits and darker expressions. This style contrasts strongly with the brighter, more hopeful tone fans associate with Naruto.
From the start, Naruto has always been about seeing the good in people. Kindness and simplicity are core to the series. Compared to that, Boruto’s character designs have a distinct personality. They are bold and striking. While this might fit the high-tech world of Boruto better, it still marks a surprising and less optimistic shift in the series’ image.
Ikemoto has a unique style, and his vision clearly makes room for fashion. However, Boruto also carries a legacy that deserves respect. Changes like these go against that legacy and not in a positive way.
