In a recent interview, Ikemoto was asked if he wanted to design any classic Naruto characters for the new series. He replied mysteriously: “I will reveal the story soon. But you have to ask yourself, ‘Why hasn’t Kakashi-sensei appeared much despite being such a famous character? It’s a mystery. I can’t reveal anything about that.”
This answer suggests Ikemoto has a major role planned for Kakashi, and the storyline has been in development for some time. Fans are eagerly awaiting Kakashi’s return, especially since Uzumaki Naruto has been sealed away and cannot appear.
