It all started with Oda’s answer in SBS volume 114. When asked about the design of Nami’s outfit and other female characters wearing daring high-slit costumes, Oda jokingly replied that these characters actually don’t wear underwear.
While many readers understood this as a playful joke from the mangaka, one fan decided to test it in a very unique way.
This otaku purchased a Nami figure in her Elbaf outfit and used a flashlight to inspect the lower part of the model to see if the manufacturer followed the “setup” Oda had shared.
The result made many fans laugh. Instead of detailed modeling, that area was simply painted black with no other details. This discovery quickly spread on social media, drawing a flood of humorous comments from the One Piece community.
