In the world of Korean cinema, adult films have carved out a unique place in the hearts of viewers. These works attract audiences not only with their scorching scenes but also through their meaningful content and artistic value. Over the past two decades, many Korean adult films have made a significant impact, with one standout being The Treacherous (Vietnamese title: Vương Triều Dục Vọng).

The Treacherous: A Harrowing Tale of Tyranny Under King Yeonsangun
The Treacherous is set during the Joseon dynasty under the reign of Yeonsangun, a historical figure infamous for his cruelty and decadence. His terrifying rule was fueled by an obsession with his mother’s death. Upon ascending the throne, Yeonsangun unleashed brutal revenge on those who had harmed her. But this was only the beginning of the story.

After taking the throne, Yeonsangun purged hundreds of scholars in what is known as the Second Literati Purge. Wherever the tyrant went, fear followed. However, not everyone suffered his wrath. Two men, Governor Im Sung Jae and his father Im Sa Hong, enjoyed the emperor’s favor.
Trusted by Yeonsangun, they scoured the land for beautiful women to bring to the palace to satisfy the emperor’s depraved desires. Among these women was Dan Hee, a young woman whose extraordinary beauty captivated all who saw her. Yet few knew that Dan Hee harbored a deep, vengeful grudge and entered the palace with a deadly mission to kill Yeonsangun.

To achieve her goal, Dan Hee cast aside all hesitation and mastered intimate skills. However, her plan took an unexpected turn when she fell in love with Im Sung Jae.
The Treacherous paints a bleak picture of Joseon, a time ruled by fear and corruption. Amid the darkness, love flickers like a faint light, but will this romance overcome fate and find happiness?
