The manga world is witnessing a major generational shift like never before. After a string of big names from the 2010s such as My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen (which recently ended its sequel), and Black Clover all said their goodbyes, another key Shueisha title has confirmed its final curtain call. That title is Seraph of the End (Owari no Seraph).
Final chapter set for volume 37

According to the latest updates from Japan (reported by @WSJ_manga on X), volume 36 of Seraph of the End has just been released. Notably, in a message to readers, the creative team of Daisuke Furuya, Takaya Kagami, and Yamato Yamamoto confirmed the series will conclude with the next volume, volume 37.
Based on the structure of previous volumes, fans estimate there are only about 4 to 5 chapters left before Yuuichirou and Mikaela’s journey comes to an end. Volume 36 includes chapters 151 to 155. With chapter 156 released on May 1, the series likely has just 3 or 4 chapters remaining. This means fans have roughly 4 to 5 months left to follow the story before the grand finale arrives later this year.
The end of a golden era

First launched in Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine in 2012, Seraph of the End has maintained a steady monthly release schedule for 14 years. Its conclusion leaves a bittersweet feeling for manga fans, marking the departure of one of the last major representatives from the explosive 2010s wave.
While it never reached the international fame of Jujutsu Kaisen or My Hero Academia, Seraph of the End has always kept a loyal and dedicated fanbase thanks to its dark fantasy story about the battle between humans, vampires, and angels.
The big question: Where is season 2 of the anime?

For many viewers, Seraph of the End is best known through its 2015 anime adaptation by WIT Studio. Although it quietly gained a following at release, the project has been dormant for nearly a decade with no news about a second season.
Manga endings often open the door for producers to consider rebooting or continuing anime adaptations to boost overall sales. However, so far there has been no confirmation about the anime’s future. Fans can only hope that once the story on the page concludes, a full anime project will be announced to honor the series’ 14-year journey.
