3. Hana-Kimi (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e)
Originally a manga debuting in 1996, Hana-Kimi finally made its anime debut in Winter 2026. The story follows Mizuki Ashiya, a girl so devoted to high jumper Izumi Sano that she flies from the US to Japan, disguises herself as a boy, and sneaks into his all-boys school.
Although the anime has premiered, there is no confirmed second season yet, even though much of the manga’s exciting content remains unadapted.
2. Red River: Anatolia Story (Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori)
This award-winning supernatural fantasy will officially launch its anime in Summer 2026. Yuri Suzuki, a girl who just got into college, is suddenly pulled back in time to the 14th century BC Hittite Empire during a date with her boyfriend.
There, she becomes caught in a royal power struggle and faces the threat of becoming a sacrificial pawn. Her fateful meeting with Prince Kyle begins Yuri’s journey to win the hearts of the ancient people. This is a must-watch early isekai classic.
1. From Far Away: Kanata Kara (Toki no Tabibito: Time Stranger)
Celebrating its 35th anniversary, another iconic 90s isekai will air this year. Fans are especially excited about the involvement of director Noriyuki Abe, known for Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho.
The story centers on Noriko Tachiki, a high school girl who keeps dreaming of a beautiful fantasy world. After an explosion, she is transported there and rescued by the mysterious Izark Kia Tarj. Noriko gradually realizes a terrifying destiny awaits her in this strange land.
