After three years of anticipation, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece has returned with Season 2. Alongside the Straw Hat Pirates’ comeback, the series introduces new characters from the Grand Line, including one of the most eagerly awaited heroines – Nico Robin.

Making her official debut in One Piece Season 2, Nico Robin has captivated audiences worldwide with her striking beauty. Actress Lera Abova delivers a sharp and nearly flawless portrayal of the iconic Miss All Sunday, perfectly capturing both her look and personality. Remarkably, Nico Robin appears for only five minutes across all eight episodes of Season 2, yet every scene leaves a lasting impression and has sparked a social media frenzy.

Beyond her appearance, Nico Robin draws attention with her Devil Fruit powers. Using the Flower-Flower Fruit, she can sprout body parts like arms and legs from any surface, using them to capture or instantly eliminate enemies. In a confrontation aboard the ship with the Straw Hats, she confidently claims she could kill them in an instant. With her formidable, unique abilities and intelligence, this beauty justifies her 930 million Belly bounty in the One Piece world and is widely regarded by fans as the most stunning female character, rivaling or even surpassing Boa Hancock.

Since revealing the actress behind Nico Robin, the One Piece team has faced mixed reactions. Some praise Lera Abova as a perfect “manga come to life,” while others remain skeptical due to her limited acting experience. Born in 1992, Abova is a Russian-German actress originally from Siberia. At 13, she moved with her family to Germany, where she faced challenges making friends because of language barriers. Despite this, she grew up resilient and determined.
In 2016, she was discovered by renowned British photographer David Sims and officially entered the fashion world. Within two years, Lera Abova appeared in numerous major advertising campaigns. This period also marked her entry into acting, with roles in projects like Anna, the German spin-off of Pitch Perfect, and most recently, the highly acclaimed One Piece Season 2.

Producer Matt Owens shared that he chose Lera Abova immediately after watching her audition tape. Her natural acting conveyed the mysterious, unpredictable, cunning yet vulnerable essence of Nico Robin, winning over both the production team and fellow cast members. When the Season 2 trailer was released, the main cast of One Piece, especially heartthrob Mackenyu, were left speechless and impressed by Nico Robin’s presence. In an interview, Mackenyu, who plays Zoro, openly expressed his admiration, calling Nico Robin the top attraction of this season.
