In recent years, Korean manhwa adaptations have surged in popularity, introducing main characters whose powers far exceed those of traditional shonen heroes. From god-level hunters and supreme mages to actual gods, these characters share one trait: they are nearly unbeatable.

Here are the 8 strongest main characters from Korean manhwa anime today.

1. Kang Lim (Ghost Messenger)

Kang Lim from Ghost Messenger

Kang Lim is one of the top Ghost Messengers in the Kingdom of the Dead, renowned for his soul-hunting skills and exceptional combat abilities.

Despite being bound to the Ghost Messenger phone after an accident, Kang Lim continues to protect both the living world and the spirit realm. Armed with the Black Shark Sword and partnered with a psychic, he stands as one of the series’ most formidable warriors.

2. Desir Herrman (A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special)

After being sent back in time, Desir Herrman gains the chance to change his fate and unlock his full magical potential.

Starting as one of the weakest mages, Desir masters high-level dragon magic and wields nearly unlimited mana. His ability to analyze spells allows him to counter even the strongest magic, making him capable of facing catastrophic threats like meteor strikes.

3. Cadis Etrama di Raizel (Noblesse)

When it comes to the strongest vampire in Korean anime, Raizel is nearly unmatched.

As the supreme Noblesse, he holds absolute authority over all vampire clans and can effortlessly defeat entire armies of werewolves if needed. Along with blood manipulation, psychic powers, and his Soul Weapon, Raizel is supported by his servant Frankenstein, one of the most dangerous fighters in the series.

4. Seo Joo-Heon (Tomb Raider King)

A fresh face in Korean anime, Seo Joo-Heon quickly impresses with his mastery of mysterious artifacts.

After being resurrected a second time, he becomes the strongest tomb raider, able to fully harness the power of all relics he owns. Many believe Seo Joo-Heon’s potential rivals even Sung Jinwoo’s.

5. Arthur Leywin (The Beginning After the End)

Arthur Leywin is one of the most versatile mages in the anime world.

Skilled in all five elements, Arthur also wields Realmheart, which lets him transform into a dragon, control gravity, and nullify enemy magic. Before reincarnation, he was King Grey, a ruler who conquered countless battlefields with supreme swordsmanship, experience he retains in his new life.

6. Twenty-Fifth Baam (Tower of God)

Twenty-Fifth Baam from Tower of God

Baam starts as a weak boy who relies on his friends for protection. However, after awakening as an Irregular, he quickly becomes a nightmare for all opponents.

Thanks to his rare Shinsu control and training under FUG and other masters, Baam surpasses the limits of ordinary Regulars to become one of the strongest characters in Tower of God.

7. Sung Jinwoo (Solo Leveling)

Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling

Starting as South Korea’s weakest hunter, Jinwoo is chosen by the Shadow Monarch as his successor, gradually gaining powers to manipulate darkness, souls, and death. His growing army of shadows turns former enemies into loyal subordinates.

By the story’s end, Jinwoo reaches a godlike level, strong enough to face the Itarim, some of the universe’s most powerful Creator Gods.

8. Jin Mori (The God of High School)

In terms of raw power, Jin Mori remains one of the most unbalanced characters. His true identity is the Monkey King, one of the Nine Monarchs who defeated countless gods before reaching Nirvana and becoming the Supreme God.

Though he initially loses his powers, Jin Mori gradually regains them through fierce battles in the G.O.H. tournament. Combining Renewal Taekwondo with the Charyeok powers of humans, monsters, and gods, he wields strength far beyond most beings in the series.
