Famous not only for its thrilling mysteries, Detective Conan has also captured fans’ hearts with a series of unique inventions by Dr. Agasa. After the voice-changing bowtie, tranquilizer watch, and card-shooting gun, one of Conan’s most iconic gadgets has finally come to life.

Conan’s power shoes commercialized after 30 years

The year 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan manga’s debut. Building on this success, Conan Movie 29: The Fallen Angel on the Highway, released in April 2026, set a record as the fourth consecutive film in the franchise to surpass 1 billion yen at the Japanese box office.

To celebrate this milestone, children’s shoe brand Achilles, owner of the ShunSoku line, partnered to release a shoe inspired by Conan’s famous power-boosting footwear.

The product officially launched on July 15 and quickly became the center of attention among fans.

A design straight out of the manga

The commercial version closely replicates the manga design with its signature red color and two rotating knobs on the sides of the shoes.

The most exciting feature is that these knobs can be turned by hand, producing a “kiri kiri” sound that perfectly mimics the noise Conan’s shoes make when activated in the manga and anime.

While they obviously can’t give the wearer super-powered kicks like in the story, the detailed design has delighted many fans for its faithful recreation.

According to Japanese media, the entire stock sold out quickly on the first day through the official online store.

Fans eagerly await more of Dr. Agasa’s inventions

This is not the first time Dr. Agasa’s inventions have been brought to life.

Previously, many familiar gadgets appeared as fan products, including the voice-changing bowtie, tranquilizer watch, card-shooting gun, Detective Boys badge with recording function, and glasses inspired by Conan’s crime-tracking specs.

The growing number of commercialized gadgets has fans hoping the next item will be Dr. Agasa’s famous rocket-powered skateboard.

In fact, to celebrate Conan Movie 29, a version of this skateboard was recreated as a popcorn container at theaters. However, a fully functional model like in the manga has yet to appear.

Japanese media reports that bringing this vehicle to life faces many challenges due to traffic regulations and safety standards.
