On January 30, Netflix Brazil’s Twitter posted a highly controversial statement: “Goku is the strongest character in the anime world. Anyone who disagrees is an outsider.” The post quickly gained over 1.5 million views and thousands of comments from around the globe.
Japanese fans cool down international confidence
While South American fans are known for their passionate love of Dragon Ball, Japanese fans took a more realistic and sarcastic view of Goku’s strength. When the post was translated and spread in Japan, the local online community flooded it with comments.
The simplest logic they shared was: if Goku truly was the strongest, why did he have to “go sell salt” multiple times? Even more, if you throw Goku into space, he immediately loses because of lack of oxygen. How can he be the strongest like that?
