One Piece chapter 1160, titled “God Valley Event,” continues the thrilling story from the previous chapter, delivering major revelations about the characters’ pasts and this historic event. Notably, the identity of Blackbeard’s mother, the appearance of the Rocks Pirates, and Garp’s involvement make this chapter incredibly intense.
Blackbeard’s Mother Is from the Davy Tribe and Resembles Robin
The chapter picks up from the previous ending, showing the host presenting about 8 to 9 members of the “Davy Tribe” on stage. Among them are a young Teach (Blackbeard) and his mother. Shockingly, Teach’s unnamed mother looks very similar to Robin/Olvia, but with messy hair. Two other men from the Davy Tribe are notably large.
The Celestial Dragons in the audience are furious, throwing knives and axes at the “Davy Tribe” slaves and calling them a despicable lineage. One Celestial Dragon even refers to them as “Buccaneers,” though this information remains unconfirmed.
Teach appears terrified while his mother tries to shield him from the weapons thrown by the Celestial Dragons. The host intervenes, warning that if any slaves die, points will be deducted.
Rocks Pirates Arrive, Roger and Garp Join the Battle
After the prize introduction ends, the “Manhunt” begins. Several pages depict the Celestial Dragons and the Holy Knights massacring innocent people at God Valley. Dragon, a young Marine at the time, sees Kuma and Ivankov talking. When a Celestial Dragon aims to shoot Kuma, Dragon shoots first to save him.
The Rocks Pirates make a grand double-page entrance at God Valley, directly preceding the scene from chapter 1096. They argue over how to save Shakky, with Rocks promising to fairly split Shakky, the treasure, and the Devil Fruit.
While Newgate (Whitebeard) wants to save Shakky as a friend, Linlin (Big Mom) claims Shakky would never care about any of them. Kaido asks Linlin, “Are you really going to give me the Devil Fruit?”
Amid the chaos, Dragon manages to rescue the twins Shamrock and Shanks.
Soon after, Roger’s crew arrives at God Valley. Roger declares he will save Shakky and orders his crew to retrieve the treasure. However, Roger’s crew rushes ahead, knocking him on the head and going to save Shakky first.
The Holy Knights and Garp’s Intervention
The chapter also introduces two new Holy Knights: a giant yeti-like creature and a large woman with horns, sharp fangs, and wild black-and-white hair. She resembles Killingham, though their connection is unclear.
The Marines at God Valley cannot stop the pirate crews landing from all sides. The chapter ends with a spectacular double-page spread showing Garp’s fleet arriving at God Valley. Garp attacks the pirates with his “Meteor Fist” from his ship, while the Marines on the island cry with relief as reinforcements arrive.
The chapter concludes with a dramatic turn of events. There will be no new chapter next week.
