Since its official release, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has sparked lively discussions across social media. The film has shattered all previous anime blockbuster records to set new box office milestones in Vietnam.
Specifically, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is the first anime film in Vietnam to earn 30 billion VND from early screenings alone. Additionally, director Haruo Sotozaki’s work became the fastest anime film to reach 50 billion VND in Vietnam’s box office history.
According to Boxoffice Vietnam, by the afternoon of August 17, the film had grossed nearly 80 billion VND. Remarkably, this figure was achieved just two days after release, highlighting the film’s rapid and widespread appeal among audiences.
On social media, images of long lines on opening day have amazed viewers. Ticketing platforms report that many IMAX screenings are fully booked, prompting fans to rush for the best seats.
At theaters, many fans went all out by cosplaying their favorite characters. They invested time and money to create impressive looks, blending into the cinema atmosphere to enjoy the film. These special cosplay moments have helped boost the film’s buzz and attract even more viewers.
Vy from Ho Chi Minh City, one of the first viewers, shared: “The visual effects are stunning, nothing to criticize, and I just can’t wait for part two.”
Meanwhile, Ngoc from Ho Chi Minh City was moved after the screening: “The film is truly amazing, definitely worth watching in theaters. For fans, you’ll probably cry in 9 out of 10 scenes.”
Hoang Vy from Dong Nai expressed: “After watching, I was deeply touched by Akaza’s character. I also admire Giyu and Tanjiro for their relentless fight.”
The Kimetsu no Yaiba manga and anime have long been beloved by Vietnamese fans. The previous film, Mugen Train, became the highest-grossing anime movie in history. So with Infinity Castle featuring the final battle of the entire demon slayer universe, fans had every reason to not miss this special installment.
In Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Kamado Tanjirō’s family tragedy reaches a climax. After his family is slaughtered by the demon lord Kibutsuji Muzan and his sister Nezuko is turned into a demon, Tanjirō joins the Demon Slayer Corps to save her and seek revenge.
As the Demon Slayer Corps prepares for the final battle, Muzan launches a surprise attack, trapping Tanjirō and the Pillars inside the Infinity Castle, an inescapable fortress. There, they are separated and must face the strongest Upper Moons, fighting with all their might to defeat Muzan once and for all.
