While the initial clash seemed balanced, a new theory questions whether Nusjuro even gave his full effort. Meanwhile, Zoro had to use Conqueror’s Haki to push beyond his limits.
At least, that’s what a fan on X pointed out after noticing something interesting about the battle. They noted that all Five Elders emit blue lightning when using Conqueror’s Haki. But in Zoro’s fight with Nusjuro, only Zoro’s red and black sparks were visible, suggesting Nusjuro might not have bothered to unleash his true power.
Zoro gave it his all while Nusjuro didn’t even use his Haki
The brief battle between Zoro and Nusjuro in One Piece episode 1150 was incredibly well animated, with nearly the entire episode’s budget focused on that moment. Zoro fans can be fully satisfied with what the show delivered.
While Zoro clearly showed strength, the fan theory suggests he was essentially fighting a “demo” version of Nusjuro. Could it be that Zoro was pushing himself to the max while the Five Elder hadn’t even pressed the “start” button yet?
Does Nusjuro possess advanced Conqueror’s Haki?
Based on what we know so far, Nusjuro almost certainly has advanced Conqueror’s Haki. After all, every member of the Five Elders is known to have top-tier abilities.
However, if the blue lightning theory holds true, Nusjuro really didn’t go all out. The Conqueror’s Haki shown in the fight was purely Zoro’s.
On the other hand, if the black sparks actually came from Nusjuro, then he might be different from the other Elders, who usually emit blue light. This could hint that Nusjuro uses Conqueror’s Haki in a unique way compared to his peers.
Still, that seems unlikely. Why would one of the Five Elders suddenly stand out from the rest? They are established as the greatest threat the Straw Hats have ever faced. So it’s reasonable to assume Nusjuro held back and is waiting for a bigger challenge.
