Dragon Ball Super 2 is expected to adapt two major manga sagas before moving on to retell Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero with new details from the manga. Notably, the Super Hero sequel could mark a huge turning point for the entire Dragon Ball timeline by introducing a brand-new Super Saiyan form.
As the story reaches chapter 103 of the manga, the power dynamics among the Z fighters will shift dramatically. Not only will a new strongest warrior emerge, but Dragon Ball Super 2 might also reveal a special Super Saiyan form that could become one of the final legendary transformations.
Broly Finally Unlocks His Ultimate Super Saiyan Form

After the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Broly moves to Beerus’s planet to train alongside Goku and Vegeta. His goal is to control his rage and fully unlock the potential of the Legendary Super Saiyan.
During a sparring session with Gohan in chapter 103 of Dragon Ball Super, Broly reaches his maximum power state. This time, however, he maintains his composure and control.
Being able to stay conscious at his peak power allows Broly to upgrade his Legendary Super Saiyan form into the True Legendary Super Saiyan.
There was debate over whether Broly in the manga only used a regular Super Saiyan form. However, the official colored manga version shows his signature green aura, confirming he taps into the Legendary Super Saiyan’s unique energy.
According to Saikyo Jump, the True Legendary Super Saiyan has the strength and potential to defeat Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta. This ranks Broly as the second strongest Z fighter, just behind Gohan at the moment.
Broly Is Becoming a Core Member of the Z Fighters
Since his solo movie, Broly hasn’t had much spotlight. But the Dragon Ball Super manga officially integrates him into the Z fighters, establishing him as one of the five key characters of the new generation.
With Toyotarou back after a break, Broly is expected to play a major role in the Black Frieza Saga. Dragon Ball Super 2 will eventually cover this arc, though the anime might introduce Broly’s story earlier.
Broly doesn’t have to fight Moro directly. The anime could frequently cut to him training on planet Vampa, showing his growth and development.
This approach adds depth to Broly’s character, links Dragon Ball Super: Broly with the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, and sets him up for a bigger role in the Black Frieza Saga.
If Dragon Ball Super 2 aims to make Broly a central figure, giving him more screen time is a smart move.
Goten and Trunks Will Also Show New Super Saiyan Transformations

Technically, Broly isn’t the only character getting new Super Saiyan-related changes.
In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, teenage Goten and Trunks don’t showcase much transformation ability. But when the anime adapts the manga, both will have more chances to display their Super Saiyan powers.
In the Dragon Ball Super manga, Goten and Trunks have never truly lost their ability to transform. They even play a useful role in the final battle against Cell Max.
Moreover, Goten and Trunks are central to the High School Saga, which will be adapted before the Super Hero Saga after the Granolah the Survivor Saga concludes.
The High School Saga gives Goten, Trunks, and Dr. Hedo more character development and shows Dragon Ball expanding its focus beyond just Goku and Vegeta.
If Dragon Ball Super 2 stays faithful to the manga, fans might experience a long stretch where Goku and Vegeta barely appear.
Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan Are Moving Beyond Traditional Super Saiyan Forms

Super Saiyan remains Dragon Ball’s most iconic symbol, but Dragon Ball Super is gradually steering Saiyan warriors in a new direction.
Goku continues refining Ultra Instinct, Vegeta develops Super Saiyan Blue Evolved and Ultra Ego, and Gohan regains his Ultimate power before achieving his biggest breakthrough with the Beast form.
So if Goku, Vegeta, or Gohan use the regular Super Saiyan form in the future, it will likely be only against weaker opponents to test their strength.
Even Broly’s True Legendary Super Saiyan is a unique power reserved just for him, different from the standard Super Saiyan forms Goten and Trunks use.
This is the first time since the Frieza Saga that Dragon Ball’s main characters no longer rely on Super Saiyan as their primary power form.
