Although the latest episode 5 was better produced than some earlier ones, a fan-made animation circulating online clearly shows what the anime truly deserves.
On Sunday, November 9, right after the newest One-Punch Man episode was released worldwide, YouTuber @markReymer uploaded a fan animation depicting the battle between Garou and Gyoro Gyoro. Needless to say, this viral clip looks stunning, giving fans a glimpse of how the fight could have looked if it had been produced with higher quality.
Garou fights Gyoro Gyoro in One-Punch Man season 3 episode 5
The latest episode of One-Punch Man season 3 shows Garou helping Tareo escape from the Monster Association’s base. During their escape, a series of events lead Garou to face off against Gyoro Gyoro. As expected, Gyoro Gyoro is impressed by Garou’s abilities and wants him to become his subordinate.
However, Garou refuses to serve Gyoro Gyoro, calling himself a genius. In retaliation, Gyoro Gyoro uses his supernatural powers to control the “Hero Hunter.” Garou easily counters the monster’s abilities and discovers Gyoro Gyoro’s biggest weakness in the process.
Gyoro Gyoro continues to attack Garou, but the “Hero Hunter” remains unfazed. Soon after, viewers see Garou leap up and sit on a rock in a menacing pose, ready to begin his hunt.
Fan-made One-Punch Man animation recreates Garou vs Gyoro Gyoro battle
On November 9, just hours after episode 5 of One-Punch Man season 3 premiered on Crunchyroll, YouTuber @markReymer posted a 50-second fan animation of Garou fighting Gyoro Gyoro. While the animation quality of the latest episode wasn’t as bad as some earlier ones, it still fell short of fans’ expectations.
Clearly, this fan animation is flawlessly adapted. Not only does it feature beautiful graphics, but the animation is also sharp, with color effects that look far superior to the official anime version.
Most importantly, fans were disappointed by the lighting used in the anime during Garou’s hunting scene, which made the “Hero Hunter” look much scarier in the fan-made animation. Interestingly, the fan animation has no sound effects besides background music, yet it still adapts the scene far better than the series’ animation team. For now, fans can only hope JC Staff will deliver much higher quality episodes in the future.
