A new Jujutsu Kaisen movie set to hit theaters later this month promises to reveal the turbulent past of two top sorcerers: Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. Surprisingly, the film is not just a recap of previously aired episodes but features significant changes compared to the TV anime version, especially regarding Geto.
Titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, The Movie, the film adapts the early episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, focusing on Gojo and Geto’s backstory before the main series events. The producers confirmed the movie includes new scenes never seen before and, more importantly, major plot changes that reveal Geto’s true feelings about humanity earlier than in the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Changes Geto’s Confession
At a special panel during Anime Expo 2025, Takahiro Sakurai, the voice actor for Suguru Geto, revealed one of the biggest changes in the film is the timing of Geto’s heartfelt confession about humanity. This key moment now happens much earlier in the movie’s storyline than in the anime series. Sakurai believes this shift makes the story flow more smoothly and adds greater depth. Yuichi Nakamura, who voices Satoru Gojo, fully agreed with this perspective.
Nakamura also shared that the new Jujutsu Kaisen movie works as a standalone story. This means it’s a great entry point for anime fans who haven’t seen the series before. For those who have watched the episodes, the film seamlessly re-edits the story to create a fresh experience. The movie even includes new content added by original creator Gege Akutami to enhance the cinematic experience.

“Before becoming enemies, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were high school classmates and close friends. These powerful sorcerers were tasked with protecting Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel chosen to contain Tengen, until she completed her mission. Hunted by a religious cult and other curse users, they were the only sorcerers capable of such a difficult task. But this mission would determine their fate and challenge them in unimaginable ways.”
These changes promise to offer a fresh and deeper perspective on Geto’s internal transformation, one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most complex villains, while making the film accessible to both new viewers and longtime fans.
