One Piece chapter 1159, titled “The Island of Destiny,” delivers major revelations that answer long-standing mysteries in the pirate world. The chapter centers on the God Valley incident, revealing explosive details about the identities of Rocks, Shanks, and even Blackbeard.
The Secret of the Davy Clan and Rocks’ True Identity
On the way to God Valley, Rocks is intercepted by Harald’s ship. Harald is sent by the World Government, with another government ship monitoring from afar. Rocks requests a private talk and some drinks, and Harald agrees.
During their conversation, Rocks reveals his real name: Davy D. Xebec. He explains that his Davy clan has been targeted for eradication by the World Government and now survives only in the shadows. Echoing the legendary pirate “Davy D. Jones” from ancient tales, this clan has barely managed to persist.
Rocks also shares that he has a wife and child. To protect them, he sent them back to their homeland with instructions to “trust the Davy clan.” That place is God Valley. Rocks’ true reason for coming here wasn’t to save Shakky, as he told his crew, but to rescue his family.
Shanks’ Origins and Shamrock Figarland
The chapter also sheds light on Shanks and Shamrock Figarland’s backgrounds. A year later, in a flashback 38 years ago, Garling returns to God Valley. There, a red-haired woman, believed to be the mother of Shamrock and Shanks, appears with the twins. Garling is surprised by the twins and compliments how cute they are. The woman pleads with Garling to stay, but he refuses, saying God Valley will soon vanish. Then Garling draws his sword and stabs her. At the same time, multiple Navy warships surround the island.
As Shanks’ mother falls, Garling reveals that a wife worthy of his status has already been chosen. In truth, he ordered the woman’s capture, intending to make her his wife if he wins the contest.

Amid the chaos, God Valley’s residents try to flee but are blocked by the Navy. Among them is a young Marine named Monkey D. Dragon. Unwilling to kill, he uses tranquilizer darts on attackers. When questioned about his mission, his superior orders him to stay silent.
Inside a house, Dragon finds Shanks’ injured mother by following a trail of blood. He hears her final plea: “Please… take my children… off this island… Don’t let HIM… have them…”
New Mystery Surrounding Blackbeard and the God Valley Incident
The chapter opens with narration about a fateful day: Shakky is kidnapped and Don Marlon is murdered. The culprit is Ouchoku, a traitor within the Rocks Pirates. However, no one in Hachinosu knows the full story.

News of Shakky’s kidnapping spreads worldwide, even causing the World Economic Times to halt publication for weeks. Ouchoku is thrilled by this, while Gloriosa weeps in despair. Roger rips up the newspaper in anger, and Rayleigh shows deep concern for Shakky.
Meanwhile, the Hachinosu pirates, learning Shakky is a prize at God Valley, rush to rescue her. Big Mom also eyes other prizes, especially a powerful Devil Fruit for her child. She even tells Kaido he might win an interesting ability. At the same time, Rocks, Roger, and Garp are all heading to God Valley, promising a historic showdown.
At the chapter’s end, the God Valley event explodes. The host introduces Shakuyaku (former Amazon Lily Queen) as the grand prize, with the winner deciding whether she becomes a wife or a slave. Fortunately, she remains healthy after the kidnapping.
Under the stands, the Celestial Dragons are visibly excited. The Holy Knights appear, including a young Garling and Sommers from 38 years ago, alongside Gunko (with longer hair). Next to Gunko is a girl wearing a beret holding a rifle, from the Manmayer clan, previously seen in Kuma’s flashbacks.

Notably, in one scene, Teach (Blackbeard) and his mother are shackled inside a cage. His mother tells him he must survive at all costs.
The chapter closes with a major announcement to all Celestial Dragons: “And now… don’t call yourselves ‘World Nobles’ if you haven’t heard of us! Besides a kid from the Buccaneer clan, we have another ‘super rare rabbit’ in this tournament! Finally, a rediscovery after 800 years! The Davy clan!” This confirms Blackbeard’s connection to the Davy clan, a detail that will dramatically shift the story’s landscape.
