Chapter 1165 of One Piece brings the legendary God Valley event to an epic peak, featuring a cataclysmic battle between the unlikely alliance of Roger and Garp against Rocks D. Xebec. This chapter not only unveils the birth of the ultimate Conqueror’s Haki attack but also reveals many secrets about future legends.

Titled “Echoes,” chapter 1165 depicts the incredible fight between Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp against Rocks D. Xebec, who is possessed by Imu. It also explains why the fall of the Rocks Pirates left a lasting impact on the world. The cover, requested for this chapter, shows Bepo sleeping on Zeus, with Law and the others resting on the back of a giant sheep.

The Unlikely Alliance and a Historic Clash

Roger and Garp clash with Rocks D. Xebec

The story continues from the previous chapter’s ending. Garp asks Roger if he hears Rocks’ voice like he does. Then, they launch their attacks. The battle spans multiple pages, but their initial strike fails to injure Rocks. The confrontation culminates in a massive collision, unleashing a fierce Conqueror’s Haki wave that splits the sky above God Valley.

Roger and Garp prepare for battle

After the collision, Roger and Garp rise. Though injured, they remain standing and remove their coats, ready to fight on. Garp declares, “Rocks… Roger… I planned to capture both of you right here on this island, but now…!!” Roger agrees to set aside his original plan to steal Shakky and the treasure to join forces with his rival. Garp emphasizes, “I never intended to do this! But leaving that man alone isn’t right either!” Thus, the legendary “unwilling alliance” is born.

The Fate of Legends and God Valley’s Destruction

While the main battle unfolds, the fates of the Rocks Pirates and Roger’s crew are revealed. Rayleigh arrives at the ship, escorting Shakky to safety, while the rest of Roger’s crew carries away the treasure they found. Both Silver Rayleigh and Shiki conclude that the Rocks Pirates are effectively finished.

Elsewhere, Big Mom and Kaido talk after surviving Rocks’ attack. They part ways with a fierce vow to fight each other, Big Mom calling it a “lifelong debt,” and Kaido replying he’ll send her where she belongs. Whitebeard (Newgate) encounters a pirate named Polo Gram (who resembles Marco) and declines an offer to join forces. Notably, Gil Bastar is seen fleeing with a ghost resembling Perona’s creations, hinting he once possessed the Horo Horo no Mi before Perona.

On a Navy warship, Dragon threatens a high-ranking officer with a gun, forcing him to allow surviving civilians aboard. Meanwhile, Imu, inhabiting Saturn’s body, leaves the island and orders the complete erasure of God Valley. The narrator confirms that the Navy and Cipher Pol 6 have wiped all records of God Valley and “The Hunt.”

The Ultimate Combined Conqueror’s Haki Attack

Before delivering the final blow, Roger tells Garp about the World Government’s cruelty: “Do you know about this? That corrupt monster, is this justice? It’s absurd!” Garp agrees but refuses Roger’s invitation to join his crew, saying, “Then who will protect the Navy?”

Roger and Garp prepare their ultimate attack

The battle continues as the last mountain of God Valley is destroyed. Roger and Garp cannot injure Rocks because he also uses Conqueror’s Haki to nullify their attacks.

In this desperate moment, Roger suggests they unleash their full Conqueror’s Haki power and combine it into a single strike to break through Rocks’ defenses. Knowing it will exhaust them completely, Garp agrees.

Roger and Garp's combined Haki attack

The final double-page spread shows Roger and Garp unleashing their combined strike. Roger delivers a series of piercing slashes through Rocks’ body with “Hinokagutsuchi no Ace” (Flame God Ace), while Garp throws rapid punches resembling the Gomu Gomu no Gatling, called “Infinite Fist Explosion.” Garp’s Haki-coated arms glow larger and fiery, reminiscent of Luffy’s Red Hawk.

The chapter ends with Rocks collapsing, dark energy pouring from him, and the narrator concluding, “The fall of the Rocks Pirates sent shockwaves through the world with its echo…!!!”

There will be no new chapter next week.
