One Piece is entering the Elbaf arc, a crucial part of the intense Final Saga. Fans know the story is reaching its climax and will soon conclude. To finish his journey, Luffy must find the One Piece, and to do that, he needs to possess all four Road Poneglyphs.
The location of the last Road Poneglyph remains a major mystery in the One Piece world. While several characters might hold clues, no one truly knows its exact whereabouts. However, in a shocking reveal, creator Eiichiro Oda seems to have subtly hinted at the final Road Poneglyph’s true location, and it’s been right in front of us all along!
The Final Poneglyph’s Location Tied to the “Scarred Man”
To reach Laugh Tale, the final island, owning all four Road Poneglyphs is essential. Three of these are known: one guarded by Big Mom, one in Wano (once protected by Kaido), and one hidden deep in the Whale Forest on Zou. This leaves the last Road Poneglyph as the missing piece, with its location unknown.
At one point, this Road Poneglyph was believed to be on Fish-Man Island. But when Luffy and his crew arrived, it was gone. Clearly, someone moved it, and the answer seems to lie in Elbaf, specifically with a mysterious figure known as the “Scarred Man,” also known as Scopper Gaban.
Scopper Gaban: Top Candidate for the “Scarred Man”
Fans know little about the “Scarred Man,” but rumors say he sails a completely black ship and can create whirlpools that swallow anyone nearby. His power is said to be so great that even the Four Emperors couldn’t claim the Road Poneglyph he holds. While his true identity remains a mystery, Scopper Gaban stands out as the most likely candidate.
First, Gaban has a flame-shaped scar on his forehead, matching the description. Second, as a former member of Roger’s crew, he knows the Poneglyphs’ locations and has the knowledge to move them. Lastly, Oda recently revealed Gaban is a skilled navigator, able to steer ships alone and carry whatever he wants. As a legend on par with Roger and Rayleigh, it’s no surprise even the Four Emperors can’t reach him.
Could the Final Poneglyph Be in Elbaf?
If Gaban really is the “Scarred Man,” the final Road Poneglyph is very likely in Elbaf. This might also involve Harald, Elbaf’s former king. In One Piece chapter 1153, we learn that 70 years ago, Harald formed friendly ties with Fish-Man Island and was present at King Neptune’s birth.
About 26 years ago, Gaban and Roger’s crew visited Fish-Man Island and saw the Poneglyph. Then, roughly 20 years ago, Gaban moved to Elbaf and befriended Harald. It’s quite possible Harald and Gaban moved the final Road Poneglyph from Fish-Man Island to Elbaf. If so, the Poneglyph could be in Elbaf’s Heaven Realm, or Gaban might have entrusted it to Shanks.
