In the latest SBS from Volume 112, Oda excited fans by revealing the full roles of the key members of Roger’s crew.
Shocking Reveal from Oda: Roles of Each Roger Pirate Member
In the latest One Piece Volume 112 SBS, a fan asked about the role of Scopper Gaban, a former member of the Roger Pirates. Oda confirmed that Gaban was the crew’s navigator, guiding them to Laugh Tale and helping Roger earn the title of Pirate King. Oda also gave a detailed breakdown of the roles of all the main members. Fans were completely surprised by the complexity and professionalism of the Roger Pirates compared to the current Straw Hat crew. Roger’s crew had roles that other crews might not even consider.
Notably, Roger had an Intelligence Officer, a crucial role that helped him stay one step ahead of his enemies. The presence of a Tactical Officer also caught many off guard. While an Informant might not seem essential, Roger still had one. Most shocking of all was the inclusion of an Interrogator, making Roger’s crew far more sophisticated and “cool” than most other pirate crews.

Absolutely! Fans will see more of the Roger Pirates in upcoming chapters of One Piece. Many characters connected to them remain to be explored, and it’s very likely we’ll get more flashbacks about the crew through Loki’s memories at Elbaf, as well as through flashbacks of Shanks and Buggy later on. Additionally, the final Laugh Tale arc could offer fans deeper insight into the Roger Pirates.
