It has been over five years since Saitama last appeared on screen, leaving One-Punch Man fans eagerly awaiting season three. With news that the “entertainment hero” will return this October, anticipation is building for the clash between the Hero Association and the Monster Association. Although the exact release date remains unknown, the series creator, known as ONE, has shared notable insights about the anime’s comeback, revealing that upcoming episodes will feature an entirely new story.

Through VIZ Media, ONE sent a message to fans: “I’m really looking forward to the broadcast of One-Punch Man season 3. We wouldn’t have come this far without the support of the fans. Season 3 will dive deeper into the thrilling new adventures of the S-Class heroes. I want to thank the production team for passionately capturing the spirit of the original manga and turning it into a captivating, unique storyline for the anime. I’m very happy to share this joy with all of you! Please join us in watching season 3. Thank you!”

Questions Surrounding the Anime and Manga

In recent months, there has been considerable debate around One-Punch Man on several fronts. So far, only a single teaser for the upcoming third season was released back in February last year. This has left many fans confused and worried about the anime’s fate, wondering if delays might occur.

More recently, voice actor Kyle Herbert, who plays Atomic Samurai, revealed during a livestream that he has yet to record his lines for the new season, fueling further speculation about whether the show will meet its October release.

The manga’s storyline has also sparked discussion. One-Punch Man fans have been less enthusiastic about the “redraws” done by artist Yusuke Murata. Essentially, these redraws retell past battles and stories with updated artwork or pacing. This often replaces new chapters, meaning many readers wait longer to see fresh adventures of Saitama.

Meanwhile, the original webcomic, where it all began, continues to be written by ONE. Although the art style for Saitama and other characters is much simpler than what many fans are used to, the story keeps progressing.
