The famous light novel That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (TenSura) by author Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah will officially conclude on November 29 with Volume 23. This marks the end of over 11 years of serialization and closes the chapter on the best-selling light novel series of all time.

The final 23rd volume of TenSura will be released alongside the author Fuse’s first spin-off novel. This last volume will come in a special edition featuring illustrations, an acrylic stand, and postcards.
Fuse confirmed plans to end the series this year, originally aiming for Volume 22. However, with new ideas continuing to emerge, the story was extended by one more volume.

TenSura’s Massive Success
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is the best-selling light novel series ever, with 45 million copies released across all its editions. The story was originally self-published by Fuse on the Shosetsuka ni Narou platform from 2013 to 2016 before being picked up by Micro Magazine in 2014.
Since then, TenSura has grown into a major franchise, including games, an anime adaptation produced by studio 8-bit, and multiple manga adaptations.
The Future of the TenSura Series
Although the light novel is coming to an end, big plans for the anime continue. Movie 4 is set to premiere on February 27, 2026, while Season 4 of the anime series is currently in production. This means that even though the main story of TenSura concludes, fans still have plenty of exciting content to look forward to.
