In December 2025, Crunchyroll revealed a list of isekai heroes with the most unique abilities, powers that can completely alter the rules of the worlds they enter. The results sparked plenty of debate since the top spots didn’t go to the physically strongest characters but to those with true “game-breaking” skills.
Leading the list are three names: Tsuyoshi Mukoda (Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill), Makoto Misumi (TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy), and Rimuru Tempest (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). What they share is the possession of “cheat” abilities that go far beyond raw power.
1. Tsuyoshi Mukoda, The “Multiverse Market Master”

Topping the list is an ordinary office worker with what sounds like a useless skill: Online Supermarket. Mukoda can buy anything from modern-day Japan at bargain prices simply by tossing money into thin air.
Why did Crunchyroll rank him first? Because this ability turns Mukoda into a “multiverse food supply.” Cooking with Earth ingredients not only delivers exquisite flavors but also grants massive buffs like poison resistance and extreme strength, enabling him to tame legendary beasts. This skill has truly transformed the economy and monster hunting systems of his new world.
2. Makoto Misumi, The Reality Shaper

Coming in second is Makoto Misumi. Rejected by a goddess for his ordinary looks, he receives a gift from the god Tsukuyomi: Creation Magic. This power lets Makoto restructure reality at will. He can create new elements (like the Moon element), forge divine weapons, and even alter the fate of entire races. His strength rivals and even surpasses that of gods.
3. Rimuru Tempest, The Limitless Evolution Entity

Closing out the top three is the “Slime Lord” Rimuru with two signature skills: Gluttonous King (absorbing enemies’ powers and memories) and Great Sage (an AI that analyzes vast information). Rimuru doesn’t “level up” traditionally but “evolves.” Every encounter adds new magic to his limitless arsenal.
Why is Subaru Natsuki Missing from the Top 3?
This question puzzles many Re:ZERO fans. Despite having the famous “Return from Death” ability, Subaru only ranks lower in the top 10.
Crunchyroll explains that Subaru’s power is more of a “personal time rewind” than a world-altering force. He can’t summon objects like Mukoda or create new magic like Makoto. “Return from Death” acts more as a storytelling device that helps Subaru grow psychologically but doesn’t introduce new magic systems or technology to his world.

Moreover, Subaru’s skill is passive (only activates upon death) and is a curse that cannot be shared. Meanwhile, Mukoda, Makoto, and Rimuru possess active powers that bend reality and set unprecedented precedents in their worlds’ histories.
Crunchyroll’s choices reflect a 2025 audience trend shifting from “suffering heroes” to characters with unique, world-shaping abilities that creatively reshape their universes.
