Seven years after Hideaki Sorachi officially retired the silver-haired Gintoki, the manga world has eagerly awaited his explosive return. Not disappointing fans, to celebrate Gintama’s 20th anniversary, Sorachi has made a comeback in Weekly Shonen Jump with a fresh and quirky new project.
The creator of Gintama has officially launched a new series titled “Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz.”
1. Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz: When a Demon Lord Meets an Unusual High Schooler

After years focusing on one-shots and anniversary movies, Hideaki Sorachi has finally moved forward with a completely new storyline. Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz follows Valaris III, a Demon Lord clone who failed in another world and ends up lost in a human high school.
Valaris plans to hide her identity and quietly conquer humanity through evil. However, her grand scheme quickly falls apart when she encounters Akira Kumon, a mysterious student who can see through all the Demon Lord’s illusions. The humor kicks in as Valaris struggles to control her powers, leading to the kind of hilarious, awkward moments Sorachi is known for.
2. A Wild Mix of Bathrooms and World-Saving Adventures

The story really takes off when Valaris discovers that Akira is actually the Toilet Demon Lord, a notorious troublemaker who often stirs up chaos in schools. Their fateful encounter happens in a bathroom, where a toilet serves as a secret portal to the other world.
However, Valaris cannot return until she becomes strong enough to defeat the “hero” who has taken control of her old world. Her only ally is Akira, a student who can unleash his fury and ultimate power only when… using the bathroom. From there, a wild and entertaining adventure begins.
3. Expectations and Challenges: Can Hideaki Sorachi Surpass His Own Legacy?

Shueisha clearly has high hopes for Sorachi, as the debut chapter of Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz spans an impressive 70 pages, far longer than other new series released this month. Sorachi’s sharp writing, unfiltered humor, and biting satire remain unmistakably present.
Still, the road ahead is not without obstacles. Shonen Jump’s history shows many legendary creators stumbling on their return, like Masashi Kishimoto with Samurai 8. Will Demon Lord Valaris and student Akira stand strong and become a new icon like Gintama? Only time will tell.
