In One Piece, the battle at Elbaf is heating up like never before with the direct appearance of the “king without a throne,” Imu. But what’s really stirring the fan community is the true nature of this entity’s powers.
Although called a “Devil Fruit” (Akuma no Mi), the way Imu wields this power feels primal and far beyond any usual rules. Many fans have even noticed that Imu seems to possess an upgraded version or the origin of several other powerful Devil Fruits.
From resurrecting the dead to manipulating life itself, Imu’s abilities at Elbaf show astonishing similarities to a range of Paramecia and mythical Devil Fruits.
1. Bringing inanimate objects to life (Similar to Soru Soru no Mi)

When Imu arrives at Elbaf, trees and wooden structures suddenly “come alive,” sporting faces and even singing. This instantly recalls Big Mom’s Homies.
The difference is that Big Mom uses soul fragments to create permanent life, while objects around Imu return to normal as soon as this entity leaves.
2. Healing black flames (Similar to Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix)

Imu uses mysterious black flames called Omen to instantly heal the Holy Knights. Even Shepherd Sommers, shattered by Luffy, can recover in the blink of an eye.
The key difference is that Marco’s flames can heal anyone, but Omen seems to only work on those who have made a pact with Imu.
3. Creating explosions (Similar to Bomu Bomu no Mi)

Omen isn’t just for healing, it can be fired like cannonballs or cause devastating explosions. Imu can even detonate air with a single kick.
The difference is that Mr. 5’s Bomu Bomu fruit turns body parts into bombs, while Imu channels explosive energy through the black flames of Omen.
4. Manipulating shadows (Similar to Kage Kage no Mi)

Imu’s attacks often take the form of dark shadows that can freely transform from a distance.
Unlike Moria, who cuts shadows to create zombies, Imu’s power is a pure, powerful projection of darkness.
5. Transformation and forced contracts (Similar to Hobi Hobi no Mi)

Through the skill Domi Reversi, Imu transforms targets into grotesque forms and forces absolute obedience.
Unlike Hobi Hobi no Mi, Imu’s victims don’t lose their memories or become toys, they keep their identity but lose free will.
6. Teleportation (Similar to Wapu Wapu no Mi)

Imu and those who have made the Deep Sea Pact can instantly teleport through abyssal circles.
The difference is that Van Augur’s Wapu Wapu fruit is more flexible, while Imu must use the Abyss as a medium for transport.
7. Granting immortality (Similar to Ope Ope no Mi)

This is the most terrifying aspect. A pact with Imu allows the Five Elders and their subordinates to live for hundreds of years without aging.
The difference is that Imu doesn’t need to sacrifice a life to grant immortality like the Ope Ope no Mi’s final move. However, the price is total dependence, and Imu can revoke this immortality in an instant.
