Live-Action Kenshin’s Enishi vs One Piece’s Zoro: Who Wins?

Both played by Mackenyu Arata, these top swordsmen bring their skills to live-action.

This is definitely an exciting what-if scenario for film fans. Mackenyu Arata, the new generation action star, has portrayed two of the most legendary swordsmen in manga and anime worlds. One is Enishi Yukishiro, full of vengeance in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final, and the other is the cool Roronoa Zoro in the One Piece live-action adaptation.

A notable similarity is that both live-action versions tone down the supernatural elements from the originals, opting instead for more realistic and relatable character portrayals. The fights lose some of their flashy flair and focus more on authentic physical clashes. So if we put these two Mackenyu incarnations head to head, who would be the last one standing?

1. Differences in Fighting Styles

Enishi Yukishiro wielding a sword

Enishi Yukishiro is a master of Watōjutsu, a sword style blending the agility of Chinese martial arts with the sharpness of Japanese swordsmanship. Though the live-action doesn’t show him “flying” around like in the manga, Enishi remains extremely dangerous with his close-range, fast, and unpredictable attacks. He can easily corner a legend like Kenshin Himura, and his beating of Sanosuke Sagara is clear proof of his formidable skill.

On the other side, Zoro is a physical powerhouse. Even in live-action, he retains his unique Santoryu (Three-Sword Style). Zoro’s endurance is not to be underestimated. He can single-handedly take on hundreds of bounty hunters at Whisky Peak or fight fiercely even after being trapped by Mr. 3’s candle wax. His presence and physical strength always radiate overwhelming dominance.

2. The Battle Hinges on the Early Stage

If the fight happens unexpectedly, Enishi would likely dominate the early phase. His lightning speed and the unpredictable nature of Watōjutsu attacks would make it tough for Zoro to find his rhythm. Enishi doesn’t just use his sword, he also employs kicks and unusual martial arts moves to disrupt his opponent’s defense.

However, the key factor is Zoro’s stamina. In the One Piece universe, Zoro is built like a heavyweight punching bag who never falls. If Enishi can’t land a quick finishing blow or disarm Zoro’s swords, he’s in big trouble. Zoro is the kind of fighter who grows tougher the longer the fight goes on, with an exceptional ability to adapt and read his opponent’s moves. Once he catches Enishi’s rhythm, the power of his three swords will create a devastating defense and counterattack.

3. Conclusion: Who Comes Out on Top?

Mackenyu Arata as Enishi and Zoro

In an unprepared fight, Enishi could push the live-action Zoro onto the defensive with his agility and unpredictability. But Zoro’s superior physical foundation allows him to endure hits and wait for the perfect moment to deliver a decisive strike.

If we imagine a 10-round match, Zoro could win 6 to 7 times. Zoro’s defeat would only happen if Enishi lands a lightning-fast attack right away or disrupts Zoro’s balance with the Three-Sword Style. But remember, Enishi is a tough opponent who forces Zoro to use all three swords to have a chance at victory.

In summary, this would be a battle of “Speed and Technique” versus “Strength and Endurance.” And in Mackenyu’s world, the “pirate hunter” might just have the edge over the “vengeful villain.”
