Based on Eiichiro Oda’s latest reveals, Nerona Imu is very likely the Forest God, the deity who changed world history during the Void Century.
Chapter 1188 reveals Imu’s terrifying power
The highlight of chapter 1188 is the battle between Monkey D. Luffy and Nerona Imu on Elbaf. Even though Luffy enters the fight fully energized after several chapters of recovery and unleashing his full Gear 5 and advanced Haki, he is completely outmatched.
Notably, Imu unleashes a new technique called Blade of Nothingness: Vohu. In the blink of an eye, the World King closes the distance at a speed too fast for Gear 5 to react, then pierces Luffy’s body with the void sword.
