A fresh leak about Pokémon Winds & Waves is capturing the attention of fans worldwide. According to reliable sources, Arcanine, one of the most beloved Fire-type Pokémon in history, might receive a completely new evolution or form after more than 30 years since the Pokémon franchise began.
Although Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have yet to confirm anything officially, these new details have sparked huge excitement among fans eager to see Arcanine reinvented in the next generation of games.
According to Centro Leaks, a highly trusted leaker named Kurwa revealed many details about Pokémon Winds & Waves, a project rumored to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. However, the source also cautions that all information is subject to change during development.
One of the most notable features is the introduction of “Weather Forms”, new forms that depend on weather conditions.
Unlike Regional Forms, which have been around since Pokémon Sun & Moon in 2016, Weather Forms appear to be an entirely new mechanic. How exactly they will work remains unclear, but the community has proposed two popular theories.
The first theory suggests Pokémon temporarily change form during battles under different weather conditions, similar to how Castform operates. The second theory proposes that Pokémon evolve into different forms depending on the weather at the time of evolution, such as rain, snow, or intense sunlight.
Arcanine is rumored to be among the first Pokémon to receive a Weather Form. This would mark the first time this legendary Fire-type has had a completely new look since its debut in the early games.
In fact, Arcanine already had a Regional Form in Pokémon Legends: Arceus with the Hisuian Growlithe and Hisuian Arcanine, which are Rock/Fire types. However, Weather Forms are believed to be a different system altogether, promising significant changes in both appearance and gameplay.
Besides Arcanine, other popular Pokémon like Lucario, Pikachu, and Kecleon are also rumored to get new Weather Forms. Additionally, some yet-to-be-revealed Generation 10 Pokémon might feature this mechanic.
The leaks also mention entirely new evolution lines. Salandit is said to gain a Poison/Dragon evolution, while Psyduck might receive a Regional evolution with Ice/Psychic typing.
If these rumors prove true, Pokémon Winds & Waves could become one of the most transformative entries in the series, shaking up the familiar gameplay formula.
