My Hero Academia (MHA) may have ended last year, but its legacy remains immense. The finale, while satisfying, surprised many fans when Deku initially became a teacher instead of a hero. However, when Deku finally returned to hero work, fans rejoiced. Still, Deku was far from being the strongest hero in the world. Recently, additional MHA content officially revealed the identity of the strongest post-war hero.
The Post-War Hero Generation: Who Leads the Pack?
The world of My Hero Academia is filled with powerful heroes. The previous generation featured outstanding individuals like All Might, still recognized as the greatest hero of all time.
After the final great war, a new generation of professional heroes emerged. All Class 1A students became heroes except Deku for about eight years. Deku lost his power after the war, preventing him from continuing as a hero. Fortunately, a special suit was designed for him, allowing Deku to resume his professional hero career.
Currently, Deku holds the number 4 spot in the Professional Hero Rankings, which is respectable. The top three positions, revealed by Horikoshi, belong to Mirio, Todoroki, and Mt. Lady. However, none of them is truly the strongest hero.
The Strongest Hero Title Goes to Bakugo!
Bakugo has always been a central character throughout My Hero Academia. He played a crucial role in the final war, directly confronting All For One. Despite his incredible power, Bakugo faced many challenges in his professional hero career, mostly due to his fiery personality rather than his combat skills.
Indeed, Bakugo’s impulsive nature did not help his ranking. That’s why his initial rank of 4 dropped to 15. However, alongside Deku’s professional hero debut, Bakugo worked harder and is now ranked 5th.
Ultimately, hero rankings are not an absolute measure of strength. Although currently fifth, Bakugo is the strongest hero in the My Hero Academia story. The only character who might surpass him in power is Deku with One For All or the suit that mimics it.
Horikoshi officially confirmed Bakugo as the strongest hero in the MHA Ultra Age Fanbook. The fanbook describes Bakugo as follows:
“A boy who dreams of becoming the number one hero. He has a rough and aggressive personality but is a genius fighter. He feels strong rivalry with his childhood friend Izuku due to Izuku’s rapid growth but gradually begins to acknowledge Izuku’s abilities. After graduation, he became an assistant under Jeanist, then went independent. His abilities are said to be on par or even surpass Lemillion, but he struggles to overcome his rough behavior and climb the ranks. When cooperating with others, his reputation mysteriously rises. He is often loved by senior heroes.”
This revelation will surely please many Bakugo fans, cementing his superior strength in the post-war My Hero Academia world.
