After nearly a year-long hiatus, Berserk has returned with a powerful new arc, delivering major twists to the story. Following chapters 384 and 385, which revealed more about Guts’ past and new supernatural powers, chapter 386 shifts focus back to Griffith and the kingdom of Falconia. Most notably, the God Hand finally reappear after years of absence, unleashing sharp and bitter mockery toward Griffith.
God Hand’s surprise arrival in Falconia
The latest chapter returns to Falconia, the nation ruled by Griffith and the New Band of the Hawk, where humans and Apostles coexist under the White Hawk’s command.
During a meeting with his followers, an unexpected group shows up uninvited. It is the God Hand, the most powerful entities in the Berserk world, including Void and the other members.
This marks the first official return of these iconic antagonists in years, signaling a major turning point in the plot.
God Hand openly mocks Griffith
Instead of welcoming their old comrade, the God Hand immediately unleash harsh criticism without holding back.
Void especially claims that Griffith’s creation of Falconia is nothing more than childish folly. To him, the entire kingdom is a staged illusion with no real value.
He sarcastically calls Griffith a “self-proclaimed king” ruling over a stage he built himself. Before leaving, the God Hand emphasize that Falconia is essentially a prison Griffith constructed for himself.
These biting insults have many readers seeing this as the long-awaited reckoning, especially since Griffith has seemed untouchable since the Eclipse.
For many chapters, Falconia has been portrayed as humanity’s last refuge in a world full of monsters.
However, the God Hand’s appearance shakes that image. If even the most powerful beings see Falconia as a fragile illusion, it’s likely that Kentaro Miura planted early hints showing the kingdom is far from perfect.
Berserk’s journey still has a long way to go
Last month, Berserk officially released three new chapters after a long absence, bringing important developments to Guts’ journey and the world around him.
Still, after chapter 386, the manga enters another waiting period as chapter 387 has yet to have a release date.
Following the passing of legendary creator Kentaro Miura, his close friend Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga have continued Berserk based on Miura’s notes and previous discussions. Their goal is to bring the legendary manga to the conclusion Miura envisioned.
Fans may have to wait several more years to see the final chapter, but with recent events, Berserk clearly signals that the journeys of Guts and Griffith are entering their most critical phase since the Eclipse.
