Specifically, Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa is teaming up once again with studio Bones to adapt her new manga, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, into an anime. This series will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll.
Fullmetal Alchemist Creator Returns with a New Anime
Hiromu Arakawa is a major name in manga, best known for the masterpiece Fullmetal Alchemist (2001-2010), which Bones adapted into two highly successful anime series. She later created Silver Spoon and now Daemons of the Shadow Realm, a manga currently spanning 10 volumes.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm follows twins Yuru and Asa, whose names mean “day” and “night.” Forced to live apart because their birth is seen as an ill omen, Yuru discovers the Daemons, paired souls bound to humans, and sets out to find Asa while learning to control these Daemons to change their fate.
The series was announced at Anime Expo 2025. Although no official release date has been set, the collaboration between these industry giants has already sparked excitement in the community.
