Less than a year after its debut, the highly anticipated sequel Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is reaching its final chapters. The epic showdown between Yuka Okkotsu and Dabura Kabura wrapped up in chapter 23, delivering an emotional yet brutal conclusion for the world of sorcery.
1. The Rise and Swift Farewell of a Hit Series
After the original series ended in September 2024, Gege Akutami surprised fans worldwide by returning with the sequel Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo in September 2025. Set 68 years after the Culling Game, this new story, illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, quickly became a global phenomenon by focusing on Satoru Gojo’s students and the next generation.
However, all good things must come to an end. Originally planned to run for about six months, Modulo is now approaching its finale. With chapter 23 concluding the main battle, the series is expected to have only two chapters left (25 total) to resolve the final plot points before officially ending in March 2026.
2. The Final Battle: Sacrifice and Maru’s Intervention

The duel between Yuka Okkotsu and Dabura Kabura ended abruptly thanks to Maru’s intervention. Yuka’s situation was dire. Whether Dabura or Mahoraga won, death seemed inevitable for the young girl. Even if a miracle allowed her to survive the fight, her deadly illness would soon claim her life.
To save Yuka, Maru was forced to summon Dabura to the “path of souls,” breaking the purification ritual Yuka had begun. Dabura agreed to return alone to Simuria to ensure Yuka’s safety. He accepted this decision, relieved to have saved his sister from the curse of Deskunte Chietan.
Immediately after, Maru used Mahito’s power not only to save Yuka but also to heal critical wounds suffered by Cross and Tsurugi. Maru took on the heavy responsibility of eliminating the shikigami and kalyan, entities sharing a soul-like nature. Though burdened with great guilt, Maru now has his brother and friends by his side to share the load.
3. Aftermath and Yuji Itadori’s Role

Chapter 23 also features a heartfelt farewell between Yuji and Maru. After 68 years, Yuji remains a guiding figure, teaching Maru about the cost of removing cursed energy from humanity. Although Maru’s ritual will erase existing shikigami, new curses will continue to arise from human emotions.
Together, they ended a brutal cycle, ensuring innocent people no longer suffer from shikigami. However, one major question remains unanswered, leaving fans anxious: what is Megumi Fushiguro’s fate? This is likely the key detail the final two chapters must reveal.
4. Release Info and Ending Schedule
While the exact release date for the final chapter is not yet confirmed, the next two chapters will feature special color pages as a tribute to readers.
