Detailed spoilers for One Piece chapter 1155 are here. Titled “The Rocks Pirates,” this chapter intensifies the flashback at Elbaf, unveiling shocking secrets about one of the most formidable and feared pirate crews in history. It not only sheds light on Rocks D. Xebec but also reveals how he assembled monstrous individuals to create the legendary Rocks Pirates.

The chapter opens with a double-page color spread showing the Straw Hat crew crossing a wooden ladder between two buildings in a strange city, setting the tone for a new adventure.

Chapter 1155 picks up right after the previous one. Loki is talking to Rocks and mentions they are in Elbaf, but his father Harald is away on an expedition. Loki is surprised since this is his first time seeing the “little man” (referring to Rocks). Rocks asks Loki’s name and tells him to go home and call Harald to treat his wounds. Loki defiantly refuses and attacks Rocks, but Rocks easily counters with his sword.

Loki confronts Rocks

Loki angrily asks, “Why would you think my father would come back just because of my wounds? Who gave you the right to order me around? You look like a weakling!”

The narrator explains Rocks’ sword attacks are famous for causing explosions around them, as if struck by a giant hammer or cannon fire. Rocks then laughs arrogantly, teasing Loki for being badly injured.

The flashback to the Reverie 8 years ago (when Rocks attacked Mary Geoise) begins. Guards at Pangaea Castle report that five kings were attacked and kidnapped by a large man dressed in black. Then the scene shifts to Imu in the mysterious Flower Room.

Imu coldly states, “The lives of a few kings cannot be used as bargaining chips with Me.” Nearby, Rocks sits on the ground holding a gun. A maid (likely Gunko) kneels beside Imu. Imu glares at Rocks as he angrily threatens.

The narrator reveals a shocking fact: For the first time in history, someone has infiltrated the deepest part of the Holy Land, entering the Flower Room. This man claims to admire Davy Jones. He knows he can’t do much else but leaves a message.

Rocks vows to return

Rocks growls, “One day, I will return to this place.” He later meets Harald at Mary Geoise as they try to escape together. In a stunning double-page spread, they clash fiercely. Their Conqueror’s Haki collides with the force of Roger vs. Whitebeard or Luffy vs. Kaido, and their swords don’t even touch.

Rocks and Harald clash

The narrator describes how their fight wiped out all life within a 5 km radius. They introduce themselves mid-battle. After the brief clash, both escape, with Harald asking Rocks for directions back to Elbaf since he’s lost.

Rocks tells Harald they should meet again if they survive. Harald refuses, saying he won’t get involved with villains anymore. He then jumps off the Red Line, shocking Rocks with his recklessness. The narrator explains that despite efforts to save him, the admiral attacked by Rocks at Mary Geoise died. The World Government placed a huge bounty on Rocks. Rocks also attacked a ship carrying the Golden Den Den Mushi to Mary Geoise and destroyed the Gate of Justice to escape.

Using the loot and ship, Rocks begins his pirate career. Over the following years, pirate ships become his new targets. He even takes part in the “Davy Back Fight” to recruit crew members. However, at this point, Rocks hasn’t officially formed a crew, just a gang following him.

Back in the present flashback 48 years ago, a grand double-page shows Rocks and six crew members dining at Aurust Castle with Harald and Loki. Loki lies in bed, bandaged and emotional that his father returned for him, though he’s nearly healed. Harald warns Loki not to return to the World Government.

Rocks invites Harald to join the crew, knowing the World Government ignores Harald’s requests. Harald declines, fearing loss of trust from other nations. He then asks why the other pirates follow Rocks.

Legendary names are officially revealed:

Yakuza Shiki (later the Golden Lion) reacts, “Follow who? That idiot? Jihaha, don’t make me laugh! We look out for ourselves! Even if Rocks dies, it won’t matter!”

Bucking Stussy, the scientist thief, adds, “True. But his plan smells like money.”

Don Marlon, a gangster from the West Sea, says, “Have you heard of Hachinosu? The Prison Island? Also called Pirate Island. It’s where nations sent dangerous criminals who couldn’t be held by any prison.”

Edward Newgate (later Whitebeard) comments, “It was once a deserted island with no food, a place where people just waited to die.”

Wang Zhi (Ochoku Wang Zhi), a pirate master and future leader of Pirate Island, says, “But recently, the criminals there have survived and formed their own organization! Do you know why?”

Ganzui, a smuggler and zombie who appeared at Thriller Bark (chapter 452), adds, “There’s a gold mine under the island! A secret organization discovered it and helped the criminals get rich!”

Rocks continues persuading Harald to join. Loki secretly listens and tears up. Rocks excitedly says, “Come with me, Harald! Together we will be unstoppable!” Harald firmly refuses, saying he is a king. Rocks immediately replies with ambition, “That doesn’t matter! Let’s take over the world.” Loki hears the word “world” and is stunned.

Rocks declares world domination

On the final page, many ships approach Hachinosu. The narrator mentions an event 4 years later (44 years ago from the present): Harald repeatedly refuses Rocks’ invitations. Finally, Rocks’ plan and his elite group’s agreement are about to unfold. The chapter ends with the Rocks Pirates’ flag flying for the first time.

There will be no new chapter next week.
