One Piece chapter 1161, titled “A Ballad Amidst the Rain of Arrows,” unveils crucial revelations about the God Valley incident, answering many of the pirate world’s biggest mysteries. This chapter highlights the gathering of legendary pirate crews and offers a heartfelt conclusion to Rayleigh and Shakky’s story.
New God Knight Attacks Dragon
The chapter opens with battles raging across God Valley. Dragon, fleeing alongside Shanks and Shamrock, is attacked by a God Knight named Saint Maffey from the Satchel family. Maffey can shoot laser beams from her mouth like a Pacifista and was sent to capture the two children before Garling could find them.
Maffey is surprised to learn Garling has children and even more shocked that someone wants to kidnap them. Dragon is wounded but determined to protect the kids, seeing this as a way to atone for his involvement in the deadly game.
Legends Unite in Fierce Battle

Just as Maffey is about to kill Dragon, Whitebeard suddenly appears and slices her in two. He arrives alongside Shiki, Big Mom, and Kaido. Though betrayed and surrounded by pirates from Hachinosu, the four legendary figures fight back and defeat their enemies.
Maffey clutches Shamrock, bewildered by the chaos on the island. Dragon takes the chance to escape. Believing the children have been captured, he is shocked to find Shanks unconscious on the ground and carries him away.

Meanwhile, Garp arrives to “arrest” the pirates. He punches the ground, forcing Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido to dodge. Kaido wants to fight Garp, but Whitebeard and Big Mom avoid conflict and flee.
Rocks rushes toward the center of God Valley, thinking about his wife Ellis and their son.
The Ballad of Rayleigh and Shakky
The Roger Pirates also arrive at God Valley. Roger pretends to be busy fighting Whitebeard, then orders Rayleigh to rescue Shakky. The Navy tries to capture Shakky, but despite being handcuffed, she fights them off. However, Sommers appears and strikes Shakky with a hammer, preparing to kill her because “she belongs to Garling.”
On the final double-page spread, Rayleigh arrives to save Shakky, defeating Sommers with a new move called Billhook of the Beyond. Rayleigh’s stance strikingly resembles Zoro’s Oni Giri technique.
Rayleigh reaches out to Shakky, mirroring Luffy’s gesture to Momonosuke on Zou. Shakky breaks down in tears and embraces him. Roger and Gaban also cry, feeling both joy and envy.
The chapter closes with Roger’s command to the crew: “Brothers! Shakky is safe! Grab the treasure and let’s get out of here!”
