Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1: Akaza Returns is currently showing in theaters worldwide and has achieved tremendous success. Although fans were initially worried about waiting several years, the outstanding production and stunning animation of the first film proved it would be well worth it.

Still, fans can’t help but be excited for Infinity Castle Part 2, especially those who have read the original manga. Based on what was adapted in Part 1, it’s clear that fans will finally witness some of the most thrilling and memorable moments of Infinity Castle Part 2 on the big screen.

Here are the 8 most anticipated moments.

1. Inosuke Comes to Kanao’s Rescue

Inosuke breaks through the ceiling just in time to save Kanao

In Infinity Castle Part 1, fans witnessed the tragic death of Shinobu Kocho at the hands of Upper Moon Two, Doma. Part 2 will likely open with this intense encounter as Kanao Tsuyuri arrives just in time to witness her master’s death.

But manga readers know another character will appear: Inosuke Hashibira, who breaks through the ceiling and saves Kanao from one of Doma’s powerful attacks. This marks the start of one of the best battles in the entire series.

2. Kanao and Inosuke Defeat Doma

Inosuke throws his katanas at Doma to help Kanao deliver the final blow

The battle between Kanao and Inosuke against Doma will surely be a visual feast, as Ufotable never disappoints with animation quality. One moment fans especially want to see on the big screen is when Kanao awakens her final Flower Breathing form and Inosuke throws his swords to help her finish off Doma. This climax will be elevated by Doma’s final moments and his reunion with Shinobu in the afterlife.

3. Obanai and Mitsuri Find Nakime

Obanai uses Serpent Breathing on Nakime

The Infinity Castle arc is long and features many characters, so unfortunately some didn’t get much screen time in the first film. That will change in Part 2, when Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji finally take action.

While navigating the castle, they unexpectedly find and confront Nakime, Upper Moon Four, who controls space. Though their fight is brief, seeing these two Hashira team up will be thrilling.

4. Kokushibo Uses Moon Breathing

Kokushibo attacks Tokito with Moon Breathing style

The battle involving Muichiro Tokito, Genya Shinazugawa, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Gyomei Himejima, and Kokushibo is one of the most exciting fights in the series. Kokushibo is the only one to use Moon Breathing combined with Blood Demon Art to unleash devastating attacks. With Ufotable’s signature animation quality, the animated Moon Breathing will be stunning and make this battle unforgettable.

5. The Tragic Death of Genya Shinazugawa

Sanemi cries as Genya disappears before him

Infinity Castle is filled with tragic deaths, but Genya Shinazugawa’s final moments after Kokushibo’s defeat are especially heartbreaking. Genya’s relationship with his brother Sanemi is complicated, and creator Koyoharu Gotouge subverts expectations by having Genya die before Sanemi’s eyes. His last words, “My brother… is the best in the world,” are sure to bring tears to viewers.

6. Muzan Kibutsuji Emerges from the Cocoon

Muzan kills a group of Demon Slayers

Although the main antagonist of the series, Muzan Kibutsuji, didn’t do much in Infinity Castle Part 1, having been weakened by Ubayashiki’s attack and Tamayo’s medicine, he spent most of his time inside a flesh cocoon. Part 2 will end with Muzan’s dramatic and terrifying resurgence. His new design, killing Tamayo, and slaughtering lower-rank Demon Slayers will be one of the film’s highlights.

7. Yushiro Takes Control of Infinity Castle from Nakime

Yushiro hijacks Nakime's control

Yushiro, Tamayo’s loyal assistant, will play an even bigger role in the second film. After Tamayo’s death, a determined Yushiro sneaks behind Nakime and uses his Blood Demon Art to seize control of Infinity Castle. This pivotal moment completely changes the battle’s course.

8. The Beginning of the Final Battle

Muzan Kibutsuji prepares for the final battle

Part 2 will likely end with a dramatic twist setting the stage for the final battle. Muzan grows impatient and decides to kill Nakime from afar, causing Infinity Castle to collapse. Outside, all the Demon Slayers realize there’s still an hour and a half until dawn. The ultimate fight against Muzan will take place in Part 3, but Part 2’s cliffhanger will leave viewers breathless in anticipation.
