Loki’s debut in One Piece chapter 1174, titled “The Strongest in the World,” is not just a grand entrance but a bold challenge to previous power standards. Once again, Oda impresses fans by creating a perfect parallel between Loki and former Yonko Kaido.

1. An Unmistakable Parallel Between Two Dragons

According to the latest developments, Elbaph’s prince makes a dramatic entrance by transforming into a colossal black dragon to save giant children falling into a ravine. This instantly reminds readers of Kaido, the strongest creature in the world.

Although Oda has yet to officially name Loki’s Devil Fruit, choosing the dragon motif, a symbol of ultimate power and mythology, is a deliberate move. Kaido represented the Azure Dragon, a symbol of brutal domination in Wano inspired by Eastern mythology. In contrast, Loki appears as a Black Dragon, steeped in Norse mythology and embodying apocalyptic destructive power.

This difference in color and cultural origin shows Loki is not a mere copy but a being on a completely different level.

2. When the “Sun God” Rides the “Black Dragon”

The closing scene of chapter 1174 has taken the internet by storm. The striking image features Loki’s dragon, Luffy in Gear 5, and the squirrel Ragnir standing at the highest point on the battlefield. They are ready to wipe out the MMA monster army in an instant.

The physical resemblance between Loki and Kaido is unmistakable. Both dominate the skies and exert massive pressure on the battlefield. However, while Kaido used his strength to lift Onigashima Island for invasion, Loki’s first act as a dragon is to save lives. This is the key message Oda wants to convey.

3. Is Oda Redefining “The Strongest in the World”?

Loki's power in One Piece chapter 1174

The chapter’s title, “The Strongest in the World,” boldly affirms this new status. Previously, this title was tied to Kaido’s ruthless conquest. Now, Oda gives it to a story where Loki uses his ultimate power to protect children and fight against Sommers’ evil.

Could the author be quietly passing the torch? Loki inherits the powerful dragon image from Kaido but elevates it. Unlike Kaido’s uncontrolled might, Loki represents strength with purpose and ideals.

4. A New Scale for the Final Saga

With Luffy’s giant Gear 5 form only reaching a third of Loki’s horn height, a new power scale is established. Elbaph introduces not just a new muscular “monster” but redefines power in One Piece’s final era. True strength lies not in how much you can destroy but in what you can protect.

Loki’s arrival shakes the old Yonko’s standing. Will the Luffy-Loki alliance reshape the world and confront Imu head-on?
