After three years of silence, Stranger Things is officially returning to screens with its final season, set to premiere at the end of 2025. All the key characters who have been with the series since the very beginning will reunite with one goal: to defeat the monster Vecna and the Upside Down.
Season 4 ended with Hawkins in ruins, signaling an inevitable showdown between Eleven and her friends against Vecna, who is trying to merge the Upside Down with the real world. The trailer highlights Vecna’s dark ambitions, featuring many scenes of the main group battling Demogorgon monsters.
Every character plays a role in this final fight. The trailer is packed with action: Steve and Dustin use powerful radio waves to start fires, Lucas rescues Max, who remains unconscious, from a Demogorgon attack, and Eleven teams up with Jim Hopper to strike at Vecna’s stronghold.
Things only get worse. After the devastation of Season 4, Hawkins is quarantined and under strict control by the U.S. government and military. They relentlessly hunt Eleven, forcing her to stay on the run. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, a familiar, chilling fear resurfaces. The sinister connections to the Mind Flayer return, foreshadowing a brutal battle ahead.
Season 5 will welcome back Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), and Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna). The season also introduces Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay.
The first half of Stranger Things Season 5 will premiere on November 26, 2025, with the second half releasing during the Christmas season. The final episode will air on December 31, 2025.
